The food was super, over the top, extremely, delightful! The gentleman that runs the place came out and chatted with us and was personable and made the whole experience so fun even though he was swamped and busy! We don't live in the area but we are planning on making the trip again and again just to enjoy this wonderful restaurant!

Our service was terrific, everything was made from scratch, the owner was especially nice and friendly, food was reasonably priced, and well worth it, I do intend on returning very soon as often as I can, highly recommend ?

The salsa was thick and delicious. The best chili relleno I've had in many years. great sauce. The quesadilla was excellent. The peppers weren't overcooked and the beef was good.I ordered two tacos, one beef, one chicken. I'll probably only order chicken in the future, the beef was a bit tough.

Gave this place another shot under new ownership/name. Location is convenient and space isn’t bad at all now that they’ve added a legit bar and done some remodeling. The issue lies in the Food and service. Both dishes ordered did not match the menu listing at all. Items listed in the description of the dish weren’t included and it wasn’t even close to accurate. I assume it would have been an easy fix had the server checked in on us or refilled our drinks. Mediocre service/ food will not last in this area no matter how convenient the location is.

This location is essentially a rebrand of Tequilera’s Mexican Restaurant. Same exact location, same core group of workers and food offerings. Nothing has changed for the better. Service is a nightmare, food is mediocre at best. You can do a lot better for yourself to find quality Mexican cuisine in the Greater Portland area.

Not sure what happened with the name change (and apparent management change), but the food portions are definitely smaller and expensive for what you get. I ordered a chicken fajita—it came with four strips of green pepper, some onions plus small bits of chicken and beef. Had to request soft taco shells—begrudgingly brought 3. Otherwise served with rice and beans. No guacamole or sour cream or anything else usual for a fajita. Especially for the price of $18!Missing my familiar servers and their smiles. Probably will not return which is a shame because we used to come here regularly.

Very disappointing. Nachos were stale, salsa bland and of spaghetti sauce consistency. There were only 7 people total in the restaurant. Food was ok but portions very small compared to the previous ownership that occupied the same space. The only visible employee was both the waiter and host. He never asked us how our food was or if we needed/ wanted anything else. Had to wait at least 15 minutes after we finished eating to just ask for our check .Once we had it, he never came back to pick up my credit card. We finally left cash on the table and left. I could see this if they were busy but 7 people total!!! We have enough good Mexican restaurants in the area so we won't be back to this one. Food was only ok and the service was terrible.

We've ordered takeout from this establishment a couple times as we live close by and it's convenient. We really wanted to like and support a new restaurant in this location. Unfortunately, each time we ordered, they have given us wildly incorrect dishes. In our first order, they put meat in our vegetarian item. We gave them the benefit of the doubt that they made a mistake, but our latest order (which will be our last) was more of the same. They must not have had any of the ingredients they claim to offer, or simply ignored what we wanted. We order vegetarian combo plates with spinach and potato burritos, and potato and mushroom tostadas and they gave us all burritos only and only put in them peppers and onions. We didn't realize the contents of the burritos until we got home but we did notice the missing tostadas and the guy seemed annoyed and a bit defensive about it. He insisted we ordered only burritos until he brought up the order and begrudgingly agreed to have some made. Those too were made with just peppers and onions. They may have changed their restaurant name but their poor quality and service is still the same.1 Star for food because they gave us something.0 Stars for service because the guy was unprofessional and the orders are consistently wrong.3 Stars for atmosphere because it's a good location and spacious, though always empty when we drive by or pick up... Clearly there are better restaurants out there and the community knows it.Hopefully, a better restaurant will take this location when this one closes for good.

One of the most legit Mexican restaurants in southern Maine, period. Really good food and great service. Vegetarian options, great drink selection, and everything is fresh and made in a typical way. A hell of a lot more authentic than many of the popular restaurants around here. We had veggie fajitas and tacos al pastor and carne asada. Everything was delicious ?

Great spot in an unassuming location. We were visiting from out of town and as former Californians we take our Mexican food seriously. The menu has all the real deal classic dishes so we decided to take the drive down from our hotel in Portland and it was totally worth it. Care was put into the whole presentation from the interior design to the menus. The most important part is that the food backed it all up nicely. We will definitely be back on our next visit.

Decided to try a new to us place and gave 1800 Mexican a go. There are a lot of lackluster Mexican (tex-mex really) places in Maine, so we were expecting decent. The food was actually excellent! Not as spicy as I would like, but the hot sauce fixed that right up, lol. I could have asked for more spice too. The rice had amazing flavor and wasn't bland at all. Both of our meals were absolutely delicious and we had enough leftovers for lunch. The chicken was seasoned well and not overdone or tough. It was raining, so we didn't sit outside but there is a nice patio as well. Will definitely be returning.
