Went for closing day of the season. Met with many regulars we know and met some we didn’t. As always, Jen behind the bar is always smiling and always makes time to chat. Emily came in to close out the night. Pleasant as always and knows our drink order.
Shrimp cocktail and the fried shrimp were fresh and delicious as always. Looking forward to March when they reopen!

We were told about this place by a local. Ken's is a must of you are in the area and looking for authentic local cuisine. We had the lobster roll, clam chowder, fish, and fries. It is of the beaten path a little out of town. The atmosphere is like that of a dive.

I've been coming here for over 60 years. I have always been happy with the food. It's always been very good. Yesterday had to be the worse food I've had there yet. The clams were so over cooked I couldn't tell the clams from the crumbs. The scallops were also over done, they were rubbery. Thank God the fries were good. My brother and I both had the clams and scallop combo and 2 clam cakes each and he said the meal had left him very disappointed. The clams cakes were also overdone. The clams bits in the cakes were crunchy and burnt on the outside. Of course it's the last of the season and maybe it was just a different cook. I don't know but for $80, you would expect the usual good seafood you come to rely on.
Maybe I missed something at Ken's...of the three Lobster Rolls I had during a recent visit to Maine....the Lobster Roll was a distance 3rd. Size of the bread and quantity of the lobster...were less than other places. Atmosphere was good. Service was good too.

I ordered chowder for the first time it was my first time there it was delicious so much so that I went back and ordered another one. I decided to go back today and order two more and yesterday's chowdah was not watery thin but not super thick it was in between and it had like a goldenish tone to it. The flavor was spot on. Today I ordered the same thing and it's like water milky white, not nearly the same flavor. The ingredients themselves are good the potatoes are cooked beautifully and the seafood is very good It's just the broth is just miles different between yesterday and today I am so disappointed. I had my mouth ready for this.
I found out they close on the 26th so I will go back again probably tomorrow and pick it up one more time and see what happens.
It would be nice to know what consistency actually is supposed to be.

The best fried seafood!! You can't get fried clams in batter anywhere that taste better than Kens. The clam cakes are good, too. Try the seafood platter, decide for yourself! We've been going here for years and always visit when we can. Order/pick up windows. Inside & outside seating.
