The setting at The Chart Room is hard to beat — the ocean view is beautiful, and the service staff were excellent: friendly, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite match the setting. The French Onion Soup came topped with deliciously melted cheese, but the broth itself was bland and lacked the depth you'd expect. The Black Point Burger was cooked perfectly and had great flavor, easily one of the highlights of the meal. The fresh local oysters were nicely chilled and well presented, though the accompanying sauces didn't add much. The Fall Salad was heavy on greens and light on everything else, and the vinaigrette leaned too far toward vinegar. The Braised Short Rib was a disappointment — the meat was overcooked and dry, and the sauce lacked any standout flavor, though the carrots were a pleasant touch. On the plus side, the Banded Brewing Migis Lager from Biddeford was refreshing and much appreciated. Overall, The Chart Room offers a wonderful view and excellent service, but the kitchen could use more consistency and balance to make the dining experience match the setting.

Very beautiful setting indoors and out. Food was pretty good but I probably wouldn't go back. It was not overly busy but service was not good at all. The waitress very distracted, errors made with drink and food order. Just an odd experience overall.

This is the second year we dined at Black Point for our anniversary. Open Table asks if it is a special occasion. Yes, I wrote it was our anniversary. However, Black Point didn't know that either time. So, apparently Open Table doesn't tell them. Disappointing! We walk in to a disappointment initially. Why aren't we greeted with “Happy Anniversary”? Also, the food...new menu...is too combined. That is, everything on the plate is delicious ( except for the rubbery cauliflower). But, it's all piled high on top of each other. Some presentation together is fine...perhaps three items piled on top of one another. But, after that separation is important so that flavors are distinguishable.

Arrived at 11:30 and was seated by a very personable host. Seated by the window with a fabulous view of the water. Delightful. Greeted immediately by the attentive server. Wine and a great lunch consisting of mussels, a baratta salad and a wedge salad with chicken. The food was wonderful, the view was wonderful and the service was wonderful. Finished with a great cup of coffee and a slice of blueberry pie. My companions and I could not have been more pleased. Love this location.

A fabulous inn with outstanding service, ambiance, coastal views, gorgeous gardens, delicious meals, and an opportunity to watch the sun set in comfy Adirondack front lawn chairs! Just the best!

The waiter that was assigned to our table left early and they didn't assign anyone else to wait on us so nobody ever came to take our order until we asked, and somebody else stepped in, but they never offered an excuse for an apology
