Breakfasts that indulge. This chain has so many typical, good things, and is clearly very popular. Any of the savoury dishes with eggs, bacon toast or pancakes really hit the spot. If you're into pure sweet, then there are many other pancake or muffin combos to choose from. Plenty of other options for all day needs, too. The service is very attentive and welcoming. A clean site with clean toilets too.

Melvin Escobar is hands down the worst manager I’ve ever dealt with at any restaurant. This guy came out acting like we committed a crime over a single plate of food. We ordered something thinking it was totally different, the person who got it doesn’t even eat that kind of thing, took one bite, and couldn’t stomach it. The server was super nice about it, totally got the situation, and took it back without making it weird.
But then Melvin came stomping out like he was about to interrogate us. Didn’t say hi, didn’t ask politely, just jumped straight to “Who ordered this?” with the energy of someone who takes brunch way too personally. Then he tells us he’s charging us and boxing it up to give back. Like… what? Why would we want that? Is that supposed to make it better? It was already bad enough being charged for something we couldn’t eat, but now we gotta walk out with a to-go box full of regret too?
He wasn’t just rude, he was power-tripping hard. Dude acted like IHOP was a five-star fine dining spot and we had just insulted his grandmother’s cooking. It was literally still early in the day, and he was already that bitter. Yikes.
If this is how he handles a basic customer issue, I can’t imagine what he’s like during an actual problem. You’ve got solid staff, but this guy? He’s the one thing that would stop me from ever coming back.

You are by the far the rudest manager I’ve ever seen in my 30 years of living - how dare you charge me for food that wasn’t correct and/or good. The servers were amazing and other people were even agreeing with us too. Will never come back here again - I’ve never sent food back to the kitchen EVER and the one time I do he handles it so unpleasantly. The FACT that he ran out of the kitchen and rudely came back and said “WHO ORDERED THIS” - brother, calm down. I dined for lunch at IHOP in South Portland, and our waitress Jessie was absolutely fantastic. Not just a terrific server, but she took the time to ask how we all were, how our stay in Maine was going, and answered any questions that we pestered her with. There should be more Jessies in this world.
Jessie the waitress was great and down to earth.ihop should appreciate her service as an employee.
