Our server was a peach and the rest of the staff so accomodating. The weather was spectacular, warm and breezy. We fell in love and will be back maybe for dinner and the nighttime experience.”

“We had 2 experiences at this amazing restaurant in 1 weekend. First was a delicious lunch out on the deck on a sunny Thursday in October. Delightful mussels and a MOJO pork sandwich for him. Saturday was the wedding and it was perfect! From the food to the service to the fabulous weather, we could not have asked for anything more! It was exactly what our daughter envisioned, small, personnel and planned inside of 8 weeks! Stephanie was so accommodating and made sure everything was perfect. The food and drinks were enjoyed by all, but the oysters were particularly incredible straight from the Darmariscotta River. The location offered beautiful views, plenty of parking and a relaxing environment. Highly recommend for small gatherings and events. Thank you North43!”

“I’ve only had two bad experiences here once being hibachi and everything being under cooked and tonight, everything was undercooked and we were ignored most of the night because I had a question regarding something I ordered. I had accidentally ordered the wrong thing and they still wanted to charge me for the correct one and the incorrect one. Waited 30 minutes for a lemonade and 50 for our meals that were undercooked and cold. If you want good service, don’t sit in the dining but sit at the bar. The bartender is amazing and I always have a great experience with her! It felt like our waitress ignored us most of the night and the woman who I’m assuming was a manager seemed to have an attitude with us too. All over me not specifying between steamed and fried dumplings.”

“I recently visited Sea Dog Brewing Co. in South Portland after a long day helping my daughter settle in for her junior year at Maine College of Art and Design (MECA). My daughter, her boyfriend, her mom and I met at the brewery after they drove 12 hours straight from out of state. Tired, hungry, and in need of a drink, we were all relieved to find a warm and welcoming atmosphere at Sea Dog. The experience was memorable for many reasons. It was my first time sharing a beer with my daughter since she turned 21, making it a special moment for us both. The bartender was nothing short of amazing. She was attentive, friendly, and genuinely interested in our story. When I mentioned that my daughter was attending MECA, she offered kind words of encouragement that truly resonated with Caroline. It’s small gestures like these that make a place stand out. The food and drinks hit the spot perfectly after such a long trip. The selection of craft beers was excellent, and everyone found something they loved. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Sea Dog Brewing Co. is a fantastic spot to relax, enjoy great food and drinks, and experience top-notch hospitality.”

“we stayed at the hotel for a few days. the bar was fantastic with an amazing cocktail list. we had the farmers board and it was great! super fresh and generous portion. we came back later to have dinner in the restaurant. the lobster bisque and seafood chowder were both excellent. to be honest we were both disappointed in our meals. I had the "24 hour" blue cheese torched short rib. it just had a few crumbles of blue cheese sprinkled on top so that was disappointing . the short rib itself was very good but there was way too much sauce on it as it was very strong. the potatoes and diced veggies were very good. my husband had the crab crusted haddock and it was far from crab crusted so that was disappointing as well. the fish was very bland and had 2 crab cakes set on top of it. it was ashame because everything else was very good. I'd give it another try but would probably just do starters and maybe try a sandwich. the enttees were largely misrepresented. they have a very impressive drink list and that would bring us back!”

“Best part: If you squeeze in between the desk and chair, you can sit on the floor right next to the (floor to ceiling) window, and it's like sitting on the edge of a cliff looking out over the Turnpike. The noise level is well-controlled, and it's quite peaceful looking at cars and trucks roll by from six stories high. Needs to be high room on the back of the West tower for this effect. Quietest a/c / air system in any hotel I've stayed in, and the controls were pretty legible. Bed was comfy and slept well. Some mystery spots on the coverlet. If you're a DIY type, take along a scraper and some paint and you can fix the peeling paint in the bathroom. Stay away from the breakfast, if you're not used to a mass-market diet, either way you'll do just as well at McDonald's. 'Fridge is useful if you want to lightly freeze things. If you want the good ol' days of a freshly-made bed every day, get on it immediately. We waited til day 3, and despite obediently ordering 24 hrs in advance, chaos still ruled when we returned at 6 pm. The same fellow running check-in eventually arrived with a few towels; we decided he was probably running the whole place on his own that night.”

“This is a food court Johnny Rockets in South Portland. The shakes here are high quality and the food is a really well done, on top of the staff is very nice. Again it was a very good burger. This is more like an 80s burger joint family style. the food was excellent. However....I shake, 1 fry, 1 burger, 1 soda. $31.00 before tip.”

“I’ve been going here for 10+ years and have no complaints! Ice cream is great (for soft serve), the shakes/nor’easters are delicious, and I’m always welcomed with great service from the staff. I recommend!

My go to is: small vanilla nor’easter + Oreo + cookie dough + caramel mixed in + whip cream OR a hot apple sundae! Try it next time you go!

Parking: There is a parking lot for customers. Since the shop is so busy, the parking lot can get crowded. People are often going out of the one way so sometimes parking can be annoying. Service is so quick here that people are coming in and out constantly so parking frees up fast.”

“This is among the most confusing dive bars in (greater) Portland. It's effectively on the SMCC campus, but is in absolutely no apparent way a "college bar." Its general vibe is a perpetually dark, quiet, locals-only sort of dive that makes considerably more sense as a community staple in a working class neighborhood, yet it's effectively on the campus of an immaculate community college and mere steps from postcard-worthy views and a beach teeming with affluent tourists flocking to Air BnBs in some of the area's most expensive real estate. Is it the "last great holdout" for "real locals?" Is it an investor's elaborate ruse to keep the lot's property value down? Will you get 86'd if you try to order an imported beer? Who knows! Karaoke on Wednesdays.”

I am happy to say that this place is both. I reallly enjoyed it.
They clearly use good beans, and the drinks are made fresh.
What made this enjoyable was the absolute flavor of chocolate liqueur. It made this drive through latte feel sophisticated and well crafted.
If I lived nearby, I'd made my way through the menu.”

“My wife, kids, and I came into the coffee shop this morning shortly after opening for a black coffee and some hot chai tea. My oldest daughter asked the gentleman behind counter about the "Ungrinch" beverage and it's ingredients. The gentleman proceeded to give my daughter the beverage for free, despite our insistence that we pay. My kids were incredibly grateful and it absolutely made their day. It was very generous and kind of the gentleman and I hope he realized the joy it brought to my kids day.”

I ordered teriyaki chicken with white rice and it was cooked perfectly. Chicken was very tender and still warm when delivered. Rice was cooked well, not mushy and not dry. They gave me a good portion with a decent amount of stir fried veggies. The seasoning and sauce wouldn't blow you away but it is still pretty darn good!”
