Moe's Original BBQ Restaurant & Catering - South Portland

I frequent Moes 2 times a week. Last night my food was terrible - the Mac n cheese tasted like buttered noodles - no cheese flavor at all and smelled of straight butter when I opened the container . Turkey wasn’t available
To order as a platter so I hade to try something different - chicken tenders - more breading than chicken . And lastly - no turkey available as a platter but I could add 4 oz of turkey. Wish I could have just got the turkey . Very disappointed. 60 dollars and I barely ate -

The ribs and brisket were excellent, and super tender, the collard greens were very authentic, and i can't compliment the service enough! I would definitely recommend coming here with the family 💖

The food was very mid. The breading on the chicken tenders and fried shrimp was lacking flavor and was more soggy greasy than crunchy.
The hasbrown casserole is really bad. It tasted like it was made 4 days ago.
The Mac and cheese is literally elbow noodles and american cheese mixed together. Horrible texture and weird taste.
Both sides were stuffed into plastic sauce containers which is so weird.
The cornbread was dry. Not even worth trying to eat after trying.
I tossed atleast 2/3 of my meal because it just sucked that badly.

I wouldn't return or recommend to anyone. Flavorless food for $20? No thanks.

I lived in Texas and Louisiana for a couple of years, and it's so hard to find good (or any) Southern food in Maine. But MAN this place delivers!!! I got a fantastic pulled pork sandwich with their delicious BBQ sauce, collard greens, and banana pudding to finish it off. It was like a little slice of the South! I loved walking around the perimeter and checking out all the Phish posters on the wall while I waited for my food. And the music they were playing was great too. 10/10

I've been here a couple times now and have quite enjoyed it, coming from texas its nice to have some good bbq around haha, the only thing I have to dig on is I wish the mac n cheese had a bit more seasoning, and I wish they still had the pulled pork chili 🙏

Not a good experience, thought I ordered something else and it was pulled chicken which im just not a fan of, there's other places to eat in my opinion

Moes is a great option for BBQ in the Scarborough area. With a broad menu and many meat and side options there’s something for everyone. Adding any meat A la carte is welcome and easy. The meat has a mild smoke flavor which is appealing to children as well. There were several specials available. Family packs are available as well for larger groups.

I lived for nearly a decade in Texas and became more than competent at judging a good brisket, so believe me, the brisket at Moes was top-notch. The sides were unique and delicious. I had the rice and beans and the hot apple cobbler. They were both remarkable. The cornbread wasn't traditional, but it tasted amazing. The service was even better than the food. If you are in Portland, Maine, try this place.

First time here. Think my expectations were high. Was not impressed!!!! Beef brisket was rather on the dry side. BBQ SAUCE nothing to write home about. Only one flavor!!!! Chile was not good. Ribs were ok!!!!! Mac and cheese had very little cheese. Dry not alot of flavor.wings unfortunately were also rather dry. Minimal flavor. Unfortunately we will more then likely not come back.
