Our favorite soft serve spot! The rotation of flavors makes it exciting to try something new, but the classic vanilla or chocolate or swirl is ALWAYS so good! They have a big selection of toppings, milkshakes, and an option for the sugar-free or vegan people, too! There is sometimes a lengthy line but it’s totally worth it (it moves fast 🙂)

Delicious. Popular with locals. Prices were a little higher than I'm accustomed to in Ohio, but honestly, we don't do this much. We got milk shakes, which were thick, rich, and flavorful! It was quite busy when we were there, but the wait was not long at all, I've waited longer at a local ice cream shop with only a couple patrons. Well staffed and friendly.

I went to Red's last night to have their famous fresh strawberry soft serve, which is legendary around here and people wait all year for it. All I can say is that I was disappointed. The strawberry flavor was so weak that I could barely taste it. Normally I love strawberry ice cream, and I've had it at many other places in both soft serve and hard serve form. What I had last night at Red's had the least strawberry flavor of any I've ever had. I'm really bummed that I waited in line for that. If I was to rate the ice cream, I would give it two stars. I'm giving Red's a rating of three stars because the service was good and I do appreciate that they have been part of our community for a long time.

After visiting the Portland Head Light we decided to get something sweet. We saw the long line outside of Red's and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. The wait was worth it. The best soft-serve we've ever had. The butterscotch was amazing. My wife got the s'mores sunday and she loved it. Super friendly staff and very tasty ice cream.

The cone that I received was the regular cone and the ice cream didn't even touch the edge. In the amount of money that I paid for the lack of ice cream I will never go there again. I used to love going there. I just can't believe the lack of ice cream they're serving now for that amount of money. I ordered a large because I don't get ice cream often and now they're serving larges as mediums.
I’ve been going here for 10+ years and have no complaints! Ice cream is great (for soft serve), the shakes/nor’easters are delicious, and I’m always welcomed with great service from the staff. I recommend!
My go to is: small vanilla nor’easter + Oreo + cookie dough + caramel mixed in + whip cream OR a hot apple sundae! Try it next time you go!
Parking: There is a parking lot for customers. Since the shop is so busy, the parking lot can get crowded. People are often going out of the one way so sometimes parking can be annoying. Service is so quick here that people are coming in and out constantly so parking frees up fast.
