Fabulous new cafe in SoPo! Our daughter, who lives nearby, suggested we stop in and it was a very good suggestion, indeed!! We get to Portland for visits fairly often and are so happy that Lana opened this really special place. She’s nailing it as far as we’re concerned. Second Rodeo has a warmly eclectic decor that feels comfortable and inviting. To date we’ve had a couple of Matcha Lattes, a Chai, and more than a few regular lattes. All so delicious and beautifully presented. London Fog to come!! Today was also the day to try an egg sandwich with avocado on an English muffin. Delicious! And like the place itself it was warm, toasty, and quintessentially comforting! Lana’s staff is lovely. Engaging, calm, and efficient. The place was bustling when we got there today and they had our order ready for us soon after we were seated. Second Rodeo has such a wonderful neighborhood vibe and I can tell by the happy faces and friendly chatter that folks are more than happy to soak it all in! Well done Lana and Co.!!
This place is everything. Come for the coffee and food, stay for the whimsical, cozy vibe that just pulls you in. Neighborhood coffee shops always have my heart, and Second Rodeo Coffee is no exception. I could’ve easily spent the entire day there, book in hand, sipping on their incredible coffee.
The staff was so warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in — no pretentious, stuffy coffee shop energy here. The seating options were amazing, with everything from couches to benches to tables, making it so easy (too easy?) to settle in and get comfortable. The coffee was fantastic. The food was delicious. I had the breakfast egg sandwich with waffles as the bread (yes, waffles!), and I’m already plotting my return for another.

We had a great experience at Second Rodeo! We’ve had cups of macchiato, latte, and Golden Milk, and they were expertly and deliciously prepared by really nice folks. We also tried the waffle breakfast sandwich which was a revelation! Highly recommended for their vibe, food, and coffee drinks.

I was lucky enough to visit on its second day open and they were already running like they’d been doing it forever. Everyone was incredibly kind and personable even though it was packed, and we didn’t have to wait long for anything. The coffee rocked and the breakfast sandwich was the best I’ve had in a while. The whole atmosphere is fantastic. This neighborhood really needed this!
Second Rodeo not only has the best coffee in SoPo, but more importantly, has the chillest, and most welcoming atmosphere and staff. Such a cozy space with more character than if it had attended Camp Greenlake and spent all day digging holes in the hot sun. I love the variety of thrifted seating options! And there’s even a kids’ corner! The merch and branding are also so cool! Will absolutely be haunting this place like it’s the Overlook Hotel and I’m Jack Torrance. Much love to Second Rodeo and the community it’s sure to nourish!
Dietary restrictions: Well I know for a fact that one of the owners has a gluten allergy and so is very conscientious of food allergies and safety. There are plenty of options for all dietary restrictions
Kid-friendliness: Kids table and activities in one area and very fun bright colors and atmosphere. Great for kiddos.
