Ordered lobster tails before from SOPO and they were good. This recent order was for their claw and knuckle lobster meat and it was not good. We followed thawing and cooking directions to the T and the lobster meat was tough and chewy. Not enjoyable at all. It was like they over cooked it before freezing. It is a lot of $$$ to be out. We had 1/2 of package left over and didn't even want to eat it. Won't be ordering again. :(

July 2025: we liked Sopo so much that we came back quickly. This time we had live Maine scallops and oysters. Farmed scallops can be sold in the shell and shacked just like oysters. This is because the scallop farmers test the water on regular basis, unlike the wild scallops.
July 2025:The menu looks interesting and exciting, I wanted to try do many things. There are 7 small tables and a bar for eating in. Lobster rolls were excellent.

July 9 2025: We stopped by for the lobster rolls unfortunately we didn't have time for anything else. It looks like they have an excellent selection of oysters which we look forward to trying the next time we are here. We had the warm butter lobster rolls. The lobster was very fresh but it could have used a little more seasoning.
July 14 2925: We are back a few days later for oysters and scallops. The scallops were served on the half shell like oysters. We had been told that scallops had to be shucked on the boat. We learned that was only true for wild scallops, these were farmed and they can be sold in the shell because the water at a scallop farm is tested for bacteria. We had a half dozen oysters each, all were terrific but the winner was the Getchell's Ledge

As a bartender, the drinks were bad. I could barely drink my margarita. The person at the front was curt and rude. The server, while friendly, was not attentive (or I would have had them remake the margarita). The AC above me dripped on my shirt the entire meal. Overall, okay food but atmosphere and service wasn't worth it. As a local, I can't recommend.

I’m normally a take a photo of my food kinda gal, but the lobster roll looked so good that I dove right in. Oh buddy, was that a good choice. 10/10 best lobster roll I’ve had ever. It was perfectly drenched in butter, nice and warm, and a good portion for the $32 market price when we came in. Would 100000% buy again. The oysters and Bloody Mary were also 10/10s. This place is sooooooo worth the drive over the bridge into South Portland. Got a recommendation from a bartender in downtown Portland to come here and SO glad we listening and stopped in after a day of lighthouse hopping!

Could not get to SoPo in person to had oysters, scallops, roe and uni shipped. Not like being there, but darned close. Amazingly fresh and the smoked trout roe is a brilliant fusion of flavors.
