THE best. Period. Can't wait for the new space!Gonna be epic. Martin is the man. The menu is lit and the tastes are fire. Southern charm in every bite. I've traveled from Topsham many times. It never disappoints.

I had the seafood Rasta Pasta today and it was absolutely amazing. The crab legs were full of flavor and very meaty, salmon was cooked to perfection, and don't even get me started on the shrimp. I will definitely be going back.

Hands down some of the best food I have had in my entire life. The flavors and textures were a whirlwind of explosion and flavor. Everyone needs to get out of the Panda Express line and try Soul Food Paradise. We're making a special trip just to see them when we visit Portland. I order their 2 item combo and did their fried chicken with mac n' cheese and collard greens. My husband ordered their j*** chicken and candy yams. Everything was so full of flavor. The j*** chicken flavor was through to the bone. The fried chicken was nothing like I've had before. Huge flat piece breaded in an amazingly crunchy breading and super tender and juicy. The candy yams were on point with their sweetness. I love mac n' cheese and they have a super cheesy one made to perfection. Best collard greens around, I wish I knew how to make their collard greens. Get out of your comfort zone and try something different. Give your taste buds the flavorful ride they've been dying to have. This place deserves more than 5 stars. I hope and pray you guys expand into something bigger. The staff were all really nice. Come to Thomaston!

Great food cooked fresh in a mall food court? Soul Food Paradise is the answer! We had the bbq and j*** chicken with sides of potato salad and mac and cheese. Don't forget the corn bread either! Chef in the kitchen was dredging filets so we knew it wasn't out of a bag! Service was terrific.

The food there was good, but one of your employees, Marvin was very rude and extremely racist towards me. As much as I enjoy the food, Martin ruined the experience for me and i will not be coming back. I’ve seen many good reviews but I’d also like to add that me and my friend have seen Martin throw bags on chicken onto the floor and then proceed to cook them.

Saw a video on Facebook about the XXL chicken and how tasty and crunchy it was. Being the fatty I am, I called my brother and said let’s go check this out. We get there at noon. Prime lunch time and ordered 2 xxl chickens and a bbq drum stick and a J*** drum stick. Came out to 39$ And I said that is a bit pricy but what the heck. I was all excited to bite into this chicken till I opened my box and the chicken was barely warm and the crust was a soggy rolled in corn meal. I took a bite and there was 0 crunch. None. The chicken was alittle dry on the outer rim but had some moisture towards the middle. Honestly not seasoned very well. There’s more flavor on a Walmart chicken tender. The bbq drumstick was cold and tasted like Kraft bbq sauce was just dumped all over the chicken. The j*** chicken barely has seasoning on it and lacked the real j*** flavor and again was cold. The cornbread was dry.I hope they do better in the future because I sure do love soul food but that experience left my soul kind of empty.Updated 1:20pm December 1st. I believe you are talking about a different person as I never asked about ribs. This was the first time I’ve ever gone there it was November 30th at noon. And let’s be real. Instead of addressing my issues you want to attack what I said. That’s a poor method of customer service. Also the chicken was not made to order as I ordered and was given the food within seconds. So no it was not fresh.

Very nice dinner from Soul food paradise. Fried chicken, smothered porkchop, greens, mac & cheese, cornbread. Filling and delicious like a home cooked meal. Meat was very juicy and nicely seasoned. Thank you!

Stopped at the Portland Mall while on a bus tour. Was really surprised to find a Soul Food restaurant in the food court! Everything... FIRE!!!!My friend and I ordered the J*** Chicken, Pork Chop and AWARD WINNING Baked Mac & Cheese! Great service too, even through in an extra corn bread muffin when he heard we were sharing. <3All of it, AMAZING!!! Probably the best take out I have ever had. The J*** Chicken was different then anything I had before. Pork Chop.. juicy!!! I even brought a meal back, 6 hours in a cooler, for my husband.. in Moncton NB. J*** Chicken, Mac & Cheese, and Collard Greens. His response.. "Ohhhh... those are RIGHT!"Will forever be planning a stop at Soul Food Paradise in Portland, EVERY.SINGLE.TIME we go to the States!

All the other lines were super busy so we gave them a try since they had no line. It was delicious! The BBQ chicken fell of the bone and was very juicy. The sauce was nice and sweet so my 4 year old loved it. He identified which items were gluten free since my kiddo has a sensitive stomach and identified the non spicy meets. After we made our order he asked if it was ok to give candy to my kiddo. Great food and great service. People should give it a try.

It is nearly impossible to get soul food locally. When I found this place; I almost danced! I got a pork chop, fried chicken, Mac and cheese and yams. I’m totally going back this week for more. And some peach cobbler!!

My family went to the Maine mall to stop by bestbuy and we noticed Soul Food Paradise. We decided to try it and were blown away. The catfish melts in your mouth, and the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were excellent. The chicken, both j**** bbq, and fried was all great, and each meal came with a corn muffin. 5/5, will go again.

ReAlly good food, I never had catfish before, but the catfish I had was big and really good, came right apart, and the side of Mac and Cheese were very delicious. Highly reccomend.
