Former South Portland resident, and still think an hour + drive is worth it just for Taj. Fantastic food, lovely people, beautiful new location. HIGHLY recommend!

This place was great! I’m in Portland to visit family and we were craving Indian. So pleasantly surprised to find yummy Indian food on the first try! Food was delish, service was great, and even though the restaurant was fairly busy for a Wednesday night, we didn’t have to wait at all for a table and the food came out very quickly.

Stopped by for the buffet on 11/5. It was outstanding with many selections including vegetarian options. Service was fantastic as well as atmosphere. Highly recommend the coconut mojito

I called 2 different times to find out about the price of the buffet (weekday vs weekend) and if drinks were included. Both times I was told that drinks were included. Not only were they not included, the bartender laughed at us and said that everyone thinks that.

Taj is the best! Not only is the food amazing, but they do so much for the community. I will always support this place!

Excellent food! Even with a reservation had to wait just a few minutes to be seated. Very busy so it was understandable. Great lighting and spacing between tables. Plenty of parking. Great place to avoid downtown parking in Portland.

The food is absolutely amazing. Best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in the US hands down. Their fresh made hot naan is to die for & the buffet is great for if you want to sample a large variety of Indian dishes. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always welcoming and super friendly. The owners also have been giving back and helping the community for many years and I always love supporting businesses that support their community.

Best authentic Indian food with a huge variety of dishes and special southern Indian dishes as well. The lunch Buffett is amazing for a quick and delicious bite to eat
