We have always enjoyed dining here, but prices have taken a leap. While the previous entrée pricing would have been in the 20’s, they are now for the most part in the 30’s. We started with bang-bang shrimp and a cup of jambalaya as our appetizers. Both tasted good and the jambalaya is a winning recipe. We settled for appetizers as our entrees and ordered the caesar salad and the calamari. The caesar salad was a disappointment with a bunch of chopped up romaine, a few croutons, and very light on the dressing. My usual go-to calamari fell flat with it being greasy and sparsely coated. We both agreed that in the future that we would go elsewhere. Dining out here has reached the Portland Old Port pricing level.

I took a Massqchusetts friend to Snowsquall in late summer of 2020. She ordered the haddock, and I the chicken. The son of the owner came and was lovely and well spoken. The deck atmosphere was relaxing! We had drinks and were happily awaiting our meals. When it came the waitress was lovely.Upon first trying my chicken it was a strange taste. I didn’t want to upend the positive occasion of our venture, so proceeded to try to enjoy my meal. Finally I had my guest try my chicken and asked her opinion. She thought it was as strange as I did! There was no taste and the consistency was tough!I spoke to the waitress and she said other customers had likewise complained, and she would get me a meal of haddock. As I said, She DID say that some customers had also complained about the chicken! So when they returned with my meal, there was a small piece of haddock and the SAME vegetables on the plate. The reason I remember this is that there was a tiny black flake in the mashed potatoes that remained there on the plates return!I was charged the full place at the end of my meal with no acknowledgement that anything had been amiss.A couple of weeks later I sent an email to the owner, letting her know of the incident. She acknowledged that her chicken supplier had only sent about an 80% good supply of the chicken and the rest was not fresh and questionable as to the quality of taste due to freeze dates. She insisted that the vegetables I was returned to the table would have been replaced with the second plate of haddock substitute! NOT SO!!!!She felt that I was not due any discount and did not seem to care that the chicken which was only 80% tastey from the entire batch should be acknowledge as inferior! She said my needs were met as a customer and I should have been satisfied.I acknowledge inferior service, inferior quality of food and lack of regard for quality standards from The SNOWSQUALL RESTAURANT.The owner dismissed my concerns and only cared about her business, as it looked to others, and not of the business concern for making customers happy.I hope this will be passed on to those looking for a fine place to eat and ENJOY their meals in the Portland, Maine area. There are plenty of great places! This just doesn’t happen to be one!Maureen ReganI sent a nice email

We make a point to try a new restaurant every week & this week we hit a WINNER with The Snow Squall restaurant. What a pleasant surprise / good food / GREAT SERVICE & a 5 star chef & owner. I really can not say enough about the service we received from Danielle. She was amazing. I have a food allergy & she & the chef made sure I was aware of the ingredients in the food. I HIGHLY recommend this spot. Will be back soon.

It was very cozy sitting by the fire and having a delicious dinner. The perfect addition was having Tim as our server. He was attentive, funny and very friendly. We had a great experience!

Great meal as always. Tim, our server, was amazeballs. I think he even sang for us. Ask him to, but prepare to tip. Five stars.

I ate brunch here for the first time since living in Portland and thoroughly enjoyed my meal and experience. The location is perfect. Right on the marina in Cape Elizabeth. There are options for outdoor and indoor dining and the patio is nice if you want to sit outside. I would love to come back for a dinner in the near future.Service is a bit slow but I didn't mind and it wasn't unreasonable. It makes for a nice break in the day and if I sit down to a restaurant, I'm not there to rush. The owner was lovely and accommodating. I will definitely be back. This local business certainly deserves the support!

We showed up here on a Saturday night and they were busy. It took a while to get seated but I can't hold that against anyone as we had no reservations on a busy night. The staff seemed fairly frazzled as it appeared they were short staffed but this didn't stop them from providing very good service. They were efficient, attentive, and very friendly. It's a bit expensive and the portions were small but my shrimp and scallop meal was fresh, well prepared, and very nicely flavored. My wife enjoyed her chicken dish and I found it to be very good as well. We'll go back to this one.

This was our pre-pandemc go-to. 1st time back since. I can go into details, but all was well below average - wait staff, entree quality, presentation, and quantity - all sub-par. Geaghan Irish Red was the only bright spot -1 star for that. I understand this business is hard right now, however, people need to come back to the same level of product and consistency as before - even if the price goes up. In this case, the price went up, and the quality of everything went down. Not worth he trip now. Previous patrons should not have pre-pandemic expectations here. Hope it improves.

Restaurant has an interesting interior in need of refinement.Food was above averageService was slow and disinterested until it was time for the check and asking to take a plate as I am eating from it....sigh.Prices for food are fair to highBUT drinks, Orange juice was 5 dollars a glass and coffee was 4 dollars a mug.Breakfast for two with coffee and oj wqs 54 dollars. Not coming back, porthole is better and cheaper.

Can u give less than a 1 star review? The food has always been decent but we just sat (table of 6) for 1.5 hours and saw the waitress once. This was a pathetic display of service.
