We stayed here last month and had a wonderful relaxing time with goods friends. we had an upstairs room with a large deck. Bed was very comfortable, used the small frig and had our own homemade mojitos and charcuterie board on the deck - perfect setting.
The Inn’s atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful, friendly staff, especially the bartenders -wonderful cocktails- everyone seemed to love their job and wanted you to experience the best service. Food was fabulous! Yoga overlooking the harbor guided by a wonderful teacher who checked in on how each of us was feeling to gage the practice level - perfect! Paddies at front desk for boats, wish we used them but next time.

If you’re looking for a beautiful scenic peaceful getaway with options to do more, amazing service and people who love their job, I highly recommend!
ps. coastal maine botanical gardens where the large trolls “ Guardians of the Golden seeds” was a great excursion.

The Newagen Inn is a true hidden gem along the mid-coast of Maine. Southport Island is a beautiful and tranquil island. The setting at Newagen Inn at the point of Southport Island is truly beautiful and quintessential Maine coast living. We stayed in the Lawnmeer Room in the “Inn” part of Newagen Inn. This was a lovely room with an updated bathroom and charming deck with views overlooking the gardens, pool and Newagen Harbor. The staff at the Inn is incredibly kind - special kudos to the staff in the pub and the front desk staff. Robinson’s Wharf and Ports of Italy are two great restaurants to try if you venture off campus.

We have been filming along the coast of Maine and thought we'd share this beautiful photo of the Seaside Inn. It is nestled in a beautiful part of the coast, and looks like the majority of the hotel has an oceanfront view. The photos that are not a direct shot of the hotel are what you would see looking out to the sea from the hotel.

Beautiful place with friendly staff. One off the best places we stayed during our visit in Maine

This is truly a little gem in Maine. I eloped at the townhall & then came here for 2 nights. Tuesday nights they host a lobster bake dinner, they set up a gazebo for our dinner and created a very intimate setting with the harbour views. Abby the manager went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. I cannot wait to come back, after only 2 nights there, it feels like home. The staff is so nice, every single one of them. The food at the pub was delicious, breakfast was complimentary, and they have cookies all the time. This inn doesn't miss any details. They even had a concert one of the nights we stayed and we got to enjoy that from our deck.

My daughter was married at Newagen Seaside Inn on July 5, 2025. The support over the past year leading up to the event from the coordinators there, Maura and Tiffany, was absolutely extraordinary! All questions were answered promptly, even when they'd been asked and answered previously. Everything was organized and efficient, and when a transportation issue arose that was outside of their control, the entire team swung into action to have it addressed promptly. The food was fabulous, the servers, bartenders and other staff were attentive and friendly. The Inn and gardens were beautiful. We'd like to recognize Abby for all her assistance as well. Thanks to everyone for making the weekend (and all our stays there) so very special!

Food was cold upon arrival after a very long wait. Music was too loud. Wait staff were professional and friendly. View was excellent. Not a pleasant experience unfortunately.

Hate to say it, but our stay here was not great. We stayed in the Seahorse cottage. The first thing we were greeted with when exploring our room, was the previous guest's lime stuck to the arm rest of the Adirondack chair on the deck. (right next to the rusty, rickety, wobbly patio table) Next, we started to unpack etc. and noticed that the dimmers on the lighting didn't work properly. The lights flickered the whole time they were on. The lighting in the bathroom is horrible ! I had to go back and fourth to both sinks just to shave because there is only one dim light on one side of each mirror. The light in the center of the ceiling actually took time to "warm up" to full intensity ! And it has incandescent bulbs in it. (again, dimmer malfunctioning) The light in the WC is so bright, it's like being interrogated at 3 AM. The tiles in the shower are crumbling. Then came breakfast... it's a buffet style that's about the same quality as a Red Roof Inn I stayed at in the 80's. I would expect for a stay that cost us $600 a night (after fees and taxes) that we could have actually gotten a breakfast made to order and served to us at our table ! (not luke warm scrambled eggs spooned out of a pile and under-cooked bacon with mediocre coffee) The last straw, was when we were getting ready to leave, I checked a closet that I had not opened previously, just to see if my wife had put anything in there. When I opened it, there were sprinkler pipes in there, I looked down in the bottom, only to see a rat in a trap that had obviously been dead in there for months !!! The only reason I gave this establishment 3 stars (and not one) is because the grounds were nice, the view was nice and dinner was very good. We will NOT be returning. (And please don't reply about "visa" problems and lack of help as an excuse, as we stayed at another Inn on the second leg of our trip to Maine that was half the price and served us a delicious hot breakfast that we didn't have to stand in line to retrieve and the room was clean and comfortable)

Newagen is absolutely the best place to have a wedding or just stay in one of their lovely rooms or cottages. The staff is professional, courteous and always there when we needed anything. The food is delicious, accommodations are clean and comfortable. The location couldn't be more perfect and amenities were plentiful. More fun than you can imagine and privacy when you want. The pool, views, lobster bake, fire pit with s'mores, The Pine Room with all the games and a bowling alley!

We booked the entire Inn for our wedding and were well taken care of. General Manager Abby and Events coordinator Tiffany, are not only professional but felt like family by the end of our 4-night stay. They were at every activity and event making sure things ran smoothly. Linda was our shuttle driver, golf carts were always available with a driver to help people who needed assistance. Everyone who was working this wedding paid close attention to every detail and more. A++++ . I can't say enough about this beautiful hidden gem tucked away in Southport, ME. Book your stay, you will not be disappointed.
