Restaurant from the front outside looks terrible, junk in the yard. Had a hard time getting into front door. Greeted and seated promptly. Waited a long time for drink order , dinner and drink order taken at same time.Food was bland, water not re poured, rest room door would not lock properly . For our last night on vacation this was a poor dining experience. There was no light going outside down the steps and to the parking lot. Pitch black. Very inattentive service. Seems like there was a lot of paperwork at the bar .
Parking: No light in parking lot or front door

Ohhhh Rouge….Where do I begin….I don’t normally leave reviews like this but in this case I just had to say something…..
It was ASTOUNDING!!!! It was my wife’s and my privilege to eat at such a true restaurant. The setting/ambience is very chill and comfortable. Our server was impressive as she was solo and had a decent number of tables to care for. She kept us feeling like we were no bother to take care of and didn’t have the need to fawn all over us which we hate anyway.
I suppose you want to know about the food…
Well, let me tell you that it’s GOOOOOOD…like soooooo good that they can bring you the totally wrong dish and it absolutely doesn’t and shouldn’t matter (thank you for the scallops Chef but the haddock rocked as well?). This isn’t just trendy “farm to table” food, this is something different. Local ingredients…sure…cool…right on. There’s just something about the prep and finishing that stands out….I say it’s love and an attitude of dedication that we as patrons are invited to share in.
If you’re a bag of tools who has expectations that must be met otherwise you’ll never go back….Good! They don’t need or want you. Be patient, be cool and most importantly…be grateful for what they’re trying to do for you. Thanks everyone! Can’t wait to see you all again.

This place is so clearly a labor of love. Our fantastic server was kind and thoughtful and really made it feel like we were regulars. It’s the kind of place that feels like- and I think is!- as if your best cook friend has invited you over for a 3 course meal. Yes, they turn folks away with bar seats open! Yes, they have a limited seating capacity! It’s a bartender, a server and ONE chef/owner. Expect a little wait (with delicious bread to tide you over) and yummy food.

The best food we had in Acadia. Never knew you could get such spectacular food and service from a locally-sourced establishment. When we were there, we had bisque from foraged mushrooms, homemade potato gnocchi, and the best scallops ever. We were a walk-in party and got there right when they opened, which I recommend if you don’t have a reservation because they get busy!

We’ve been to bar harbor several times but this was our first time staying in SW harbor and man, was Rogue a highlight! The cocktails were phenomenal and all of the food was so interesting and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the mussels, burrata, and scallops!

Me and my family visited Rogue as a private party and had the best time. The food was so delicious and fresh. Felt like a loving home cooked meal.

Rogue has always been one of our favorite places on the island. It has lived up to its high standard! We had an amazing meal last night. Start to finish the food was impeccable. Appetizers included, tomato bisque, lobster cakes, Beet salad and Panko crusted eggplant. All perfectly flavored perfectly cooked and delicious. Main courses included delicious Atlantic cod, Maine scallops and a braised chicken dish. All spot on and flavorful.
Ingredients are locally sourced and organic.
Additionally, the desserts were sensational. We sampled each one! This place is a hidden gem. Casual but upscale. The best meal we had our entire vacation.

Tried to get in last summer and were turned away even though they didn’t close for another hour. Reached out to them two months in advance via email (as their website says to do) to make a reservation for our trip this summer - followed up multiple times over the two months leading up to our trip, and they never responded. Called many times and no one answered the phone either. They’re either out of business or have terrible service.
Woman answered phone was very impatient and rude when trying to speak to her. Did not have the food looks very good to bad the customer service is poor ???

Owner-operated. Paper menu. Five starters and six mains, three desserts. Hard to choose, all sounded great. We had Pork belly and Peekytoe crab cake, then Gnocchi with foraged mushrooms and pan-fried Haddock. All great, really enjoyed the gnocchi! An outstanding, knock-your-socks-off chocolate “pudding”. Excellent wine list and good, interesting wines by-the-glass. This is the real deal- an adventurous chef who loves food and local ingredients. Great, personable service!
We descended on Rogue with 8 of our friends, for a party of 10. From the time we walked in, our young servers were very attentive! The food was delicious! I had the panko crusted haddock, which was cooked and prepared to perfection! All around the table, everyone loved their dinners! At the end of the dinner, the owner/chef came out and greeted us individually, which allowed us to express our appreciation for our dining experience!
I had such a great meal from the folks at Rogue. Started off with a delicious mushroom bisque and got the pork chop with this phenomenal plum sauce as a main. The people are friendly and the food's excellent. Do yourself a favor and make your way over!

This is truly a gem! You might drive by without noticing it, but if you are looking for a really special meal, make a reservation here. It is a small, family-run business, and allows for a relaxed setting. The menu changes depending on what local goodies the Chef selects. Between the four of us, we had the mussels ( fresh, delicious and prepared differently than anywhere else), crab and corn cakes (sweet, crispy and yummy) and big fresh salads with light dressing. The homemade gnocchi, haddock and salmon were all superb. Really, not a speck was left on any plate. It’s great to support a local, family business especially when the experience is so sublime. The martinis were also perfect and they have a nice wine list and unique tasty desserts. We had the lavender crème brûlée and dark chocolate pudding—highly recommend both!
