Bought a couple of 2 lb. lobsters at the Belfast farmer’s market today. The price was great and the quality incredible. Super sweet and delicious. We were careful not to overcook and every bit was tender and delicious. Absolutely recommend.

Coldwater Seafood in Deer Isle perfectly captured the essence of a quintessential Maine seafood market. Their friendly staff was happy to answer questions and guide me through their impressive selection. I ended up grabbing some live lobsters for a special dinner (they even offered steaming if I needed it!). For a snack, I couldn't resist their homemade smoked mussels. The honey mustard option was a revelation - smoky, sweet, and with a delightful kick. Everything felt incredibly fresh and high quality. If you're looking for delicious seafood and top-notch service in Deer Isle, Coldwater Seafood should be your first stop!
I bought a few things there. Smoked salmon and blackened salmon was so good. Great place to get fresh crabmeat as the pickers were busy picking in the back room. Can't wait to cook my fin n haddie!

Highly recommend this place. The smoked mussels are insanely good, I couldn’t stop eating them. We also tried the fresh scallops, out of this world!!! Not only is the seafood really good, everyone is genuinely nice and kind there. Will be my first stop to get seafood when we come back to Stonington next time!

My husband is a self employed clam harvester. He had sold his clam here off and on over the past couple of years. Earlier this December, another market was buying clams at almost double the price Coldwater was buying them for, so we sold my husband's clams at the other market. Four weeks later, after Coldwater raised their buying price, my husband went to sell a small batch of clams to them. One of the workers met my husband outside after looking in the back of our truck and told him, "You were caught selling to the truck at the bridge and she (Amelia Damon) said you are no longer allowed to sell here." We now have to sell at markets away from Deer Isle Stonington because Coldwater won't buy clams from clam harvesters that sell to higher buyers. Another clam harvester hasn't even received a check yet for clams he sold there days ago when there is suppose to be a next day check policy minus weekends.
