Waitress was clearly inexperienced and with an early reservation, the main dishes were already sold out. Waitress couldn't get the side orders right and when requested basil on the flatbread? We were given pesto instead and the waitress clearly didn't understand the difference between the two.
The food was ok but not what it was hyped to be. I wouldn't recommend unless specifically in the area. We live in coastal Maine and took a trip to try this place but really wasn't worth the travel.

The place looked really good they brought our hors d'oeuvres out within the first 15 minutes, and then neglect us for an hour no water no service for what seemed like ever... I suppose they were dealing with their regulars. All in all it was kind of a Shabby experience. but I can't blame the chef..the food was good, especially after waiting for an hour I suppose anything tastes good at that point!😆

We were seated promptly for our 6pm 4-top. Our entrées did not appear until 7:15 pm. 3 out of 4 were quite good and only 1 was disappointing, smothered in salt. Lovely room, but no management level person overseeing the house and addressing the obvious bottleneck of a kitchen that could not keep up. We over heard conversations at multiple adjoining tables about the interminable and unacceptable wait of an hour or more between placing orders and entrées arrival. Where were the owners/management? They have to have been aware that many customers were unhappy. I feel for the waitstaff, they are the faces absorbing the brunt of obviously dissatisfied customers and are penalized by receiving ungenerous gratuities. We normally tip 25% but only at my partner's insistence was I willing to leave 15%.

Job well done! We started with the lobster spring rolls. I don’t eat seafood but when my husband ordered these I had to try them … I’ll eat lobster made like that any day! I’ve never had a good lobster anything from anywhere until tonight! Our steak, asparagus and fries were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Our cheese ravioli and red sauce was delicious as well. Portions are very large. Well worth it. We drove an hour and a half to try this place and I can’t wait to go back and try other food options! Everything was amazing. Thanks for the great experience tonight to all the staff!

Electronic payment systems were down and things were a bit chaotic but the staff held things together really well. Seemed like a bit of a skeleton crew.
The food though, really surprising experience. Not good!
I got a burger, it was made with a pre made patty so it was kinda mealy and dense. Fries were basically infused with oil to the point where half of them were wet. Laughably bad. $25.
My wife got the lobster spaghetti special from that night, red sauce with shrimp and lobster. Didn’t seem like the pasta was home made, we make our own a lot and this was not fresh, very chewy.
Sauce was watery, again not good. The lobster and shrimp was cooked well, garlic bread hard as a rock. That plate was $38.
Last, the wine my wife got was $11 and tasted like really cheap house wine. Our standards aren’t high, we like Kirkland wine.
Still bewildered by this experience, wondering how this place gets such high ratings serving the food that we got.

Always a focus of our family food experiences when we vacation in Stonington. We eat here a few times every trip. The food is phenomenal, fresh local seafood as you'd expect, flavors that always are new and inspired. The staff is welcoming, approachable and responsive. I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant!

Had an amazing time at Fin and Fern. Really great cocktails and some lovely seafood pasta dishes (Arrabiata special was great!). We were seated at the bara nd the bartender was friendly and made good conversation too. Don't remember his name but he had a long beard and was from Chicago!

Fresh and delicious food served in another of Maine’s quintessential fishing villages.

Service was a bit slow. Server courteous but did not bring salt/pepper no second drink as requested. Prices have increased rather dramatically from past menus posted online. Offerings having also changed. I’m would suggest taking outdated menus/pricing down as this was a true disappointment.

As they say, some of the best surprises come unexpectedly. I took my wife to Fin and Fern on a whim for her birthday dinner. Made a reservation online for 7pm and was promptly seated when we arrived. Fin and Fern has a cozy atmosphere and a pleasant staff, Jodi from upstairs was great.
I would suggest that if you are looking to make a reservation, make it before 6:30pm. Two of the dishes I was looking forward to ordering were already sold out before we could order our meal.
Took a leap of faith on the warm beet salad thanks to the staffs feedback, it was probably the best beet salad I have ever had.
The lobster ravioli was also delicious, I would absolutely order it again.
Unfortunately, my experience was diminished when I was served a burnt crème brûlée. My wife’s dinner and dessert came out great, which is all that really matters.
Overall a great evening and one not so great dessert.

Pizza is off the charts here. The Paula pepperoni better not put the lil nook of Stonington on the map! The folks that work here are so phenomenal, kind, and hard working. Come here for the freshest ingredients and the menu creativity (wayyyy beyond 'za). This place will never ever disappoint! Great selection of bevvies and lovely outdoor seating too.
We love the location and food! The pizza and salads are especially wonderful and memorable. Stonington is a gem!
I got dinner here with my husband last fall, and I still think about it. Has to be some of the best food I've ever had - rustic, fresh, and delicious. If I ever make it back to Stonington, I'll do it for this restaurant.
Lovely dinner in garden for seven. Excellent and innovative seafood dishes and desserts. Fine, friendly service.
