Our experience at the carriage house was transformative. We felt it as we walked into the space. We exhaled and were welcomed by the owner, warm, inviting and friendly. Made us feel like we were at home instantly. We had two pies. The 1st was a lamb morrocan pie... I am still dreaming of the flavor. We then had the peach, ricotta and prosciutto. I was instantly a fan. You must try it when available, I promise you will not be disappointed. The flavor was mesmerizing. We have added the Carriage house as a must stop when we are in the area. The spirit of the people and place will leave a wonderful impression and memories, wanting you to go back.

The food here is excellent. However, the pizzas are small and expensive. Also there is no organization to the dinning room. Tables are grab it when you can. There is no wait list. We ended up having to take our food to go. Despite being there longer than other diners.

We travel from Portland, OR to the Rockland area every summer and Uproot Pie at the Carriage House is our favorite pizza - ever! The pizza, salad, dessert etc are all excellent and the vibe is truly special.

We popped down to Thomaston expressly to have dinner here on a Thursday evening a couple weeks ago and it was a lovely experience. Well worth the 45 min drive. The Carriage House is a lovely setting for a date night, with delicious pizza options, great drinks and a warm, welcoming vibe.
