I was getting a pick up order at the subway store in Topsham right next to the station but I didn't know I would encounter a Karen inside š I was very nice and friendly because of holiday and you guys know, It is a Christmasššš¤ vibe and energy around, we should be happy and thankful, greatful for this wonderful holiday cause also this beautiful country šŗšøšŗšøprovides us with such a safe and peaceful holiday. Anyway and than I said āhiā and she didnāt say anything and I was like āoh maybe she didnāt hear meā and I tried to nicely and kindly told her that ā I am picking the order upā and very surprisingly, she just gave me a very very very bad look and attitude on her face. I was shocked š³ I was like how come people can be very uneducated in this great and best country in the all over the word.( Iām really curious about this) anyway there are lots of opportunities to improve your skills Miss Karen but lemme tell you something honey you donāt have to work if you donāt want to, you are an adult lady!!!šµ maāam š¤you have must learned manners just friendly reminderš but donāt worry about that cause it is never too late for anything.
WHAT SHE DID IS UNFORGIVABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE.
Note for manager: 21 December 2025 I was there around 7pmish please check the schedule and talk to her. Well only if you care about your business and work. But I will never and ever again shop in that SUBWAY TOPHSAM store me and my husband never will be there never ever again.

It was the worst experience I've ever had at Subway. There was only 1 guy making sandwiches. I told him what kind of bread I wanted and 5 minutes later he asked me again. We asked for a double neat on a steak n cheese, and it looked like triple. The lady working was not helpful. She was too worried about putting away the truck load and complaining about a coworker. He then started complaining about her. Then, to top it off, they had no pickles. I asked why, and she stated she hadn't found them yet. So, almost 25 minutes later, we finally were done. Very ridiculous š poor customer service and the guy shouldn't have been by himself.

We visited this Subway location in the afternoon when it wasnāt crowded. My husband and I placed our sandwich orders, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the young woman behind the counter was visibly rude and dismissive, as if she were doing us a favor by making the sandwiches.
At the billing counter, she mixed up my vegetarian sub with someone elseās chicken sandwich. We even asked her to confirm which one was the vegetarian option, but she didnāt respond. When another staff member asked her again, she bluntly said, āI donāt know.ā It is absolutely her responsibility to know what she is handing to the customer.
I realized I had been given meat only after taking the first bite. This was especially upsetting because my dietary preference is based on religious beliefs. Despite the seriousness of the mistake, the staff was unapologetic. Initially, they acted as if they didnāt understand, and only later offered a refund without a sincere apology.
Mistakes can happen, but what was most disappointing was the complete lack of courtesy and accountability. In a customer-facing role, being respectful and attentive should be the bare minimum.
Horrible service , I ordered online and it took them 20 minutes to tell me they did not have my order then when I asked them what can we do about it they told me that is my problem. After 35 years as a loyal customer this will be my last visit to subway.
$18 for this nonsense!
Young girl pretty quiet, last night when I went in to pick up my online order was working. I called to try and acknowledge her to her manager but no answer to the phone. She may be quiet but that girl can make a good sandwich. I made a point to call just because itās been so long since Iāve ordered online to subway and theyāve made me a satisfactory sandwich that was correct to what I ordered. It seems thereās always something missing but this young lady did a great job and Iāll definitely go out of my way to order at this location because of it.
Edit: another great sandwich 4/10/2025 servers by: 999997
Clean restaurant and typical subway food but horrible service. Twice in a row now, when I walk in and I have to wait and be ignored by the employees for minutes (solid 3-4 minutes) because theyāre in the middle of talking and donāt care Iām staring at them waiting to be served. Then the young lady come out front and started CLEANING instead of acknowledging my presence. I never would treat my customers like this at my work. When you walk in, youāre my priority. Will be going to another location from now on.
Doesn't take care of exterior. Ice on the sidewalk was not attended to and I fell. 11/29/24

This is the second time I've had this experience at this Subway in Topsham, which is very near my home. The first time was also around 8PM. Both times involved two employees, one more than the other: a slender girl with wavy, light-strawberry blonde hair. Her co-worker is an older lady with dark hair in a ponytail. Both times, the moment I entered the Subway I immediately got the impression my arrival was an unwanted inconvenience for them. Between their shared looks of annoyance, complete lack of acknowledgment or greeting until I could be ignored no longer, and the cold, put-upon tone and demeanor of the blonde girl as she took my order and made it, the atmosphere couldn't have been more inexplicably tense. Even her mannerisms told me I wasn't wanted there--the way she slammed shut the toaster door, and pushed my sandwich across the counter at me with noticeable force before ringing me up; all these details weren't something a reasonably observant and aware person could fail to notice. It was the kind of treatment I might expect from someone I had personally offended or wronged, or maybe even been sharp or abrupt with. But I hadn't said or done anything that could've been perceived as offensive or rude toward her, or toward anyone, I was just tired at the end of the day, ordering a sandwich, relieved there's a place where I can get something minimally healthy.
The first time I didn't tip her because I didn't think someone who treats customers like that should get a tip. This time I did tip her though. I didn't want to make the inner choice to judge instead of have compassion. I understand she may have had a long day. And the thing is, we have all had a long, sh****y day. My frustration is that if a person is not wiling to at least *try* to put on the appearance of a minimally-friendly attitude, or at least to avoid having an *unfriendly* attitude, that person may not thrive in a job where they are the literal face of that company's customer service.
šI hope that Subway will counsel the blonde young lady, and both employees from Monday evening (the 14th around 8pm) on the importance of not treating customers in an unfriendly way, of not having an noticeably unwelcoming attitude toward them, especially those customers that aren't being rude, pushy, abrupt, or annoying, as I know some customers can be. It's not okay to take out one's frustration at those particular customers on other customers who come in who might be perceived as an easy target that won't stand up for themselves. That strikes me as a somewhat immature, high school mode of conduct. Everyone has had a long, sh****y day by 8pm on a Monday. We don't need that kind of attitude when we finally get off and are just trying to get some dinner and go to bed.š
I'll be going over the bridge into Brunswick for a while to get Subway at the end of the day, even though this one in Topsham is within three minutes of my home. I don't really want to go back because I don't know who will be working, and if possible I want to avoid a situation like this that leaves me feeling deflated and low. No one should have to feel that way walking out of a Subway if they didn't already feel that way walking in.
