Back in February, USA Today wrote and article about the Best Restaurants of the Year 2024. I read it from my kitchen table in Cincinnati, Ohio. Black Goat Supperclub was listed. We were already planning a trip to coastal Maine in May, so I followed them on various socials and made a reservation as soon as they opened up the spots. We attended the Saturday night Supperclub on May 18th. We were visiting Camden, which is only about 15 minutes away from Warren. It was their last pre-season dinner before their busy summer, and we were fortunate to enjoy ourselves with just one other couple. It was a very intimate, special dinner.

I can tell you this was one of the best meals we have ever had! After a lovely welcome drink and an amazing oyster preparation we enjoyed in the kitchen, we sat down to a lovely decorated table. Every single dish that was presented was beautiful, with such great flavors and textures that melded together in such a unique, delicious way. The wines Cat chose complemented each dish perfectly. The beauty of a night like this is that you are served what the Chef's compose, observe their creativity, and experience new flavors.

I emailed Cat when we got home for our menu, and she was gracious enough to send it to me. I am going to post pictures, but I can't explain every delicious bite we ate. Please just experience Derek and Cat's creations for yourselves. It's worth every effort to get there and every penny to eat at the Black Goat Supperclub.

We had a wonderful time last evening. Great ambiance, service, food and drink. The owners were wonderful and Angus was so passionate about the ciders. We’ve been to the Lost Kitchen and I would definitely put this on par with the quality and overall experience, luckily for now, however, you can still make a reservation here without hoping that your name gets drawn in the lottery. I highly recommend this great experience!

Dietary restrictions: The owners are very accommodating. No one in our group had any food issues other than wanting more of this great food and service.

The takeout is beyond amazing. The supper club is incredible. They’re the nicest couple. You have zero reasons not to book right now.

An excellent four course meal with paired cocktails/mocktails and scripted background music. This was a dining experience shared with 12 diners. A true social experience, with great food, drinks and people. Definitely worth the price and the travel time.

Kid-friendliness: Not an event for young children.

Great atmosphere, beautiful spot on the river! Food was excellent, the Korean fried chicken tacos were my favorite, but everything was delicious!

I do not write reviews but was visiting my parents in Camden and me being a chef in upstate NY they decided to bring me to their new favorite restaurant...All I can say is WOW!! What Derek and Cat are doing with their supper club in the small town of Warren is remarkable.. I try to eat at fine dining restaurants once a month or so and find them to be a tad pretentious and not worth the hype.. Going to the black goat is like entering into their home and they provide service and food that is creative, fun and delicious... It is a little pricey as other reviews have said but they spoil you throughout the evening with flavors and textures you wouldn't expect on one plate...totally worth it and I give them 10 stars hands up!

Wonderful restaurant! We have attended supper and brunch events, and the food is vibrant, delicious, and one of a kind. You can also stop by for a drink and a simpler lunch or dinner when there isn’t an event running. A true local gem.

The black goat is a hidden gem off the grid in Warren Maine and it is worth going there. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was delicious. Is as the smoked oxtail. only 18 minutes from Camden.
