Ok, 38 West Pub & Grille IS the proverbial Diamond in the rough! The food is amazing, the service is 1st class and the atmosphere is perfect for casual dining. If you are within 30 miles of this place, it is a must go in your Maine restaurant trips. They have an expansive bar, great beer selection & plenty of room in the dining area.

I have had the pleasure of eating here for lunch and dinner on a few occasions. The food, service and atmosphere is always great. Yesterday we held a Celebration of Life event here. Jane and her staff out did themselves. They served us a variety of the most delicious food with wonderful service. Stopped today for lunch, our first time here. Paula behind the bar was great. We got there early , so we had a few minutes to talk with Paula and her sister, Jane, the owner. Wonderful people and a nice clean and cozy place. Food was pretty good, we had blackened haddock tacos, fries and a pretty good salad. As people drifted in for lunch, it was obvious everyone else was a regular. Good Sign ! It's about an hour from our house, but worth the trip. We will be back.

Music was good so was the food. Waited awhile for drinks or service tho. Manager wasn't helping much and when talking to her was sworn at multiple times. Also saw her push staff and yell at them for her not helping. Eaten here multiple times but the Manager kinda ruined it for me.
