Really good on Colby college parents weekend. I made a reservation 3 or 4 days in advance, which is not very long considering that the town doubles in size when every single parent comes to town. I liked the food. I liked the people I liked the ambiance. I like the prices. Amici's was really pretty. Darn good

The exterior of the building lends itself to look significantly more spacious inside. Upon first entering the restaurant, it's immediately apparent how cramped it is. There are approximately 20 tables, all of which are maybe an arm's length apart from one another. This fact coupled with the lack of any partitions and a generally small dining room, leads to a hardly bearable cacophony when at capacity.
Regarding the food itself; overpriced relative to portion sizes and quality. Ordering a pasta dish nets you a paltry salad, e.g., a less than handful of greens, 2 cucumber slices and 2 cherry tomatoes. What gives? I'm aware of restaurant practices like upcharging on lower cost menu items (pasta, for example) to subsidize costs on other menu items (often steak) but produce is of minimal value. Ordered the carbonara and it was profoundly average made worse with sadly overcooked pasta, not whatsoever al dente. Pasta portion was admittedly fair and the best part of the meal was the ciabatta bread they brought to the table. However, for an around $30 entree, not impressed.
Service was fine, attentive but wouldn't call the staff friendly or down to earth, either. Found the repetitious upselling and rigamarole surrounding this obnoxious. They have this whole charade of bringing around a dessert plate to display everything they have, even when not asked for. Awkward.
Definitely not returning but if this sounds like your cup of tea, by all means.

We were in town for vacation and decided Italian sounded good. This restaurant is downtown so parking can be a problem if busy. We were lucky and found a spot few blocks away. We were seated right away but then had to wait about 5 minutes before waitress came for our order. We both decided the 5 cheese lasagna because who wouldn’t love 5 kinds of gooey cheese. We also ordered garlic bread even though they bring bread. The bread and oil they gave us was good and the garlic bread delicious. The lasagna not so much almost all ricotta with spices no gooey stringy cheese at all. So dry we had to basically wash it down. When waitresses asked how it was we told her our displeasure but she said nothing. So I wouldn’t recommend the lasagna anyway.

Excellent food even with a smaller menu. Service is perfect, as is the atmosphere. The bread is delicious, served with an olive oil mix.

Over priced. Food was just average. Room temperature was warm. Shared a meal was given an extra plate and also an upcharge to split a meal……. We did the splitting ourselves. Will not be back. Almost $50 check for one meal and one alcoholic beverage and a Diet Coke. Was really hoping for authentic Italian food.

Amici’s Cucina is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever visited, an absolute gem in the heart of Waterville! From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting atmosphere and the friendly staff make you feel like family.
The food? Incredible. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor, clearly made from scratch with love and tradition. The pasta is perfectly cooked, the sauces are rich and layered, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend the Carbonara its comfort food at its finest. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just craving a hearty, homemade Italian meal, Amici’s delivers every time.
Do yourself a favor and make a reservation, you won’t regret it!
Chicken marsala was basically wine and chicken. no flavor (other than wine), literally never coming here again.

Laughably bad. like. genuinely icky. waitress was nice, didn't seem like she wanted us there. chicken marsala was not a sauce but a reduction with mushrooms that tasted like they were boiled. There is absolutely no way they don't get complaints about it. it was basically chicken with broth that tasted like wine. Don't understand why pasta was served with it.

Some of the worst food in Waterville. I got a cheese board, lasagna, and some pasta with lobster dish. Everything tastes like a frozen box kit from Wallyworld. The silverware is also very dirty, get a better dishwasher. If you are looking for some good food in the area, take a left and go to OPA. Some of the best food over there. All in all, if I could give this place a zero I would.
The place is clearly dead for a reason. save yourself the time and money, and choose a better place to eat. No one could pay me enough to come back.
