I just finished the Harvest Melt (added turkey) and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! So happy I stopped in to try them and now have a great place to get a delicious sandwich! My son also approves of the macarons😊

We’ve absolutely fallen in love with the almond croissants at Bake Maine in Wells! The crispy crust with just the right amount of sweetness, paired with the moist, flaky almond filling, is pure perfection. The breakfast bowl is also a favorite of ours—fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Despite how busy they can get, the service is always prompt and efficient. The staff is friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for a delicious breakfast or a perfect pastry, Bake Maine is the place to go!

There are a lot of positives— the atmosphere is very nice and the food is quite good. If I could give less than a star for customer service, however, I would.

For two breakfast sandwiches we waited 35-40 minutes. This place is not a sit down, table side service restaurant. I would certainly feel better about the wait if that were the case. We, like many others, chose take out because we didn’t want that kind of experience and didn’t have that kind of time. Nevertheless we patiently waited.

The gentleman just after me felt exactly how I did. While I kept my mouth shut, however, he spoke up. He struck up conversation with me and asked if I also felt the wait was unreasonably long (more than 30 minutes had passed for him at this point). I agreed. He then approached the kitchen area and began speaking with a staff member. He again expressed his frustration and mentioned that it had been so long that he had finished his beverage. For the hassle, he hoped they would “compensate” him for the poor experience by refilling his drink. They staunchly replied, “No. We’re going as fast as we can.”

Again, the food was pretty good. The wait for our take out breakfast order was horrible and no effort was made to put things right with their patrons. No warning was given for the lengthy wait, and they couldn’t even manage to offer a simple gesture like a free pastry or coffee refill with a sincere apology.

The entire situation was unreasonable and unpleasant.

Absolutely delicious food, well worth the price for the quality. I got The Wilson, a chai latte, and a slice of their pumpkin cheesecake, all as good as you want them to be, if not better than imagined. Bakery was a bit scarce when I got there closer to the end of the day, as to be expected, but there was still a descent selection. The chef decides what special desserts to make week to week, so I had to get me a piece of that cheesecak, of course. Highly recommend!

At first I was confused when I searched for a new local cafe, arrived, and found it was a location I had reviewed before. Apparently it’s the same head chefs, but new owners / branding. They reopened not too long ago. I like the new look of the tableware better…. more neutral and inviting for sit down guests. :)

The dessert case was pretty barren by the time i walked in at around 11AM on a Wednesday, a heads up. The staff member was very nice answering my questions and taking my order. There were only 2 in the shop at the time.

I ordered a Tahini latte - which only
comes in small, and a vegan cookie. They use Carpe Diem beans (roasted a town over in North Berwick), so I had an idea of what the espresso would take like.

I wish they had more vegan / eggless / alt milk offerings! There was basically only one thing I could order because of this. Granted, that’s kind of on me for walking into a bakery where most things are made with eggs haha - but I figured it was worth noting

The only reason I knocked off a star is price. $12 for a small latte and cookie (and tip) is a bit much. All for paying everyone fairly, but I’m probably less likely to stop in if it’s about that much for a pretty minimal order.

Perhaps because cookies don’t need to be kept as fresh as say, a cheesecake, I probably didn’t have the best sample of the treats this place offers. It was mid-size and good flavor, but not worth nearly $4.

Otherwise, I’d love to see what the place offers in the future. It has potential to be really cute with some decor …

finally a relaxing, delicious breakfast spot on wells! I vacation here yearly, and was happy to see this open. I spent most my mornings here over a book and coffee. I tried their breakfast sandwich (the kristen), spinach mozz galette, housemade focaccia, and ginger cookie. everything was absolutely delicious. my only note was that their espresso is very dark roast, but that’s just an opinion and I know many people enjoy otherwise! overall a great addition to the area!

From 6-year-old Lynne: "Hi it's Lynne, I just ordered from this cafe and it was so good. My grilled cheese with bacon had so much flavor into it. When I went with my aunt, she loved her sandwich so I'm giving this cafe a restaurant a 5-star review because it is really, really good." From the aunt: the Korean beef sandwich was the best I've ever had, melt in your mouth. Super cute outside space too.

This was my first time going with my daughter for lunch today we walked in and the place was full of smoke as if something burnt badly, we ordered sandwiches and each spent over $35 in baked goods. We got home and opened the boxes and the smell of burnt smoke came from every single item. I tasted a salted carmel maccaron and tasted burnt. Daught tried the frosting on the rasberry vanilla cupcake burnt taste. I called Baked Maine in Wells where we went to let them know, and the girl on the other end chuckled at me. This frustrated me. So, I said well I am just letting you know, she said thank you and chuckled again and hung up. Sadly idk if I will be back again after this experience.
