“Awesome place! Stopped here on our way to Boston, and we were so happy we did. Ordered the chicken wings, Mekong fried rice, shrimp pad thai, beef khao soi, pad see ew and panang curry. We thought everything was fantastic, except for the pad thai - I found it too sweet. But maybe it's just my taste, because my sister liked it. Place was clean, server was very kind. GO!!!”
“My husband and I love "For the Love of Food and Drink! We are "Regulars." The food is always excellent with a great menu. The owners are friendly, and their staff is outstanding. This is a "Wells" treasure!”
“Nice friendly place for breakfast. Only complaint would be the 2 additional .90 charges on the bill. Guess they were probably for sour dough toast and rye. Staff should NOT offer everything as if it's included, make it clear if there is an upcharge. I only wanted 1 piece of toast anyway, and ended up paying extra. Would have declined. They need to train staff...”
“We finally stopped in here recently and we were so overwhelmed, in a great way, at the slice options. Pizza is always a battle for us as we don't often like the same types. We got the sicilian slice and a spinach roll. Both were absolutely tasty. They were very busy with takeout orders but still go to ours rather quickly.Cannot wait to go back and try other things.”
“Today's amazing lunch was at a fantastic spot, Chef Jacques Crepe and Chowder Wagon. We had clam chowder which was honestly the best I have ever had in my entire life!!! And I'm a New Englander! I love the tender chopped clams and delicately sliced fingerling potatoes and celery in a creamy clam chowder. It was seasoned perfectly. The crepes were just amazing. My spouse was lucky enough to get the last London broil, caramelized onion and horseradish sauce crepe and I had a Montecristo, turkey ham and Swiss crepe, drizzled with Maple syrup!Chef Jacques is a very friendly man with a good sense of humor too. We would recommend this food truck over most other area restaurants!”
“Seafood was really good, we had seafood combo with baked potato and salad. Amazing!! One chicken finger dinner, also amazing, lightly fried not greasy, very delicious. Also one of our party had the fried haddock sandwich with fries he was extremely happy with his meal. Last person had the terriyaki chicken wings and she was delighted with those as well. Waitress was extremely nice and pleasant. Will definitely be back.”
“This place is hopping! Be prepared to wait. Friendly service. Big portions. Recommend the special Downeaster Benedict though a bit on the salty side. Didn't care for the potatoes. Ask for hot and crispy so that they get to you hot and not mushy.”
“Very good. Wells Maine in winter means many closed restaurants. This bar and grille area s definitely a locals place. We started with an order of Wagyu sliders, that were very very good. They had bacon, melted cheese and mayo on them each and came with three in the order. Then we split the grilled chicken salad, which was a basic fresh mixed green salad with a few tomatoes, a few cucumber slices, some croutons, and very small amount of shredded cheese. Dressings tasted like they were out of a bottle, but they were good. We especially liked the waitress. No nonsense and great service. We could also see what seemed to be the manager, replenishing tables, cleaning up, and helping out wherever needed. Well, it wasn't exactly fine dining, we really did like the place. I believe their lobster roll would have been great, but we've already eaten enough lobster this week. I'd go back there.”
“I just had a wonderful meal with excellent attentive service on the waterfront. The Clam Chowder was great about 80% clams and maybe 20% potatoes with a nice not to heavy cream sauce. The lobster was also wonderfully tender and juicy.Finished the meal off with homemade blueberry crisp with a scoop of ice cream.A very enjoyable place with a no frills atmosphere that I could tell by the conversation around me is a favorite of the locals”
“We are staying in the area and every one we asked said this is the place to try I'll tell you it did not disappoint great atmosphere Lively, our waitress was quick friendly and on top of everything, coconut shrimp appetizer was perfect our drinks came quickly, I got the surf and turf broiled haddock and steak usually for a smaller piece of steak restaurants overcook them this was cooked a perfect medium with a very decent size baked haddock food was just delicious, real French fries. Eat until I just couldn't anymore.”
“What an amazing store! Everything is fresh, pizza is delicious, cider and apple cider donuts are the Best ever! Service is friendly. Ambiance, is like walking into a bakery of country comforts with fresh produce, meats, spices, seasonings and there is a modern twist of your favorite drinks, chips, and bread. A one stop shopping experience that will please your senses! They are open 7a-6p, have an informative website: and weekly specials. Stop by you will enjoy the experience!”
“Had a delicious meal tonight. Second time we have been there and we were not disappointed. Our server was great. Started with french onion soup which was warm and tasty. I had the surf and turf. Steak and twin baked lobster tails, asparagus and house potato. The filet mignon was melt in your mouth tender. My husband had the ribeye. He said it was by far the best that he's ever had. Thank you again for a wonderful meal.”
“Very crowded as to be expected on St. Patrick's Day. Very crowded. Too far away from the music to hear the band. Should have been piped throughout the restaurant. Plenty of corned beef and cabbage.”
“I recently visited Batson River restaurant for the first time, and it was an absolute delight. Arriving a few minutes after opening on a Saturday, we were promptly seated amidst the festive and incredibly fun Christmas decor, setting the perfect mood for the season. The decorations alone made the visit worthwhile. The food matched the festive atmosphere. I had the mussels and smoked haddock chowder, both had a rich and flavorful taste. The "Zero Proof" mocktail and non-alcoholic beer selection were a pleasant surprise, providing excellent alternatives. Our waitress, Nicole, was not only attentive but also exceptionally kind, adding to the overall positive experience. I'm looking forward to my next visit!”
“I tried my first lobster bisque back in 2017 at this place. I come up to wells 1 time a year from las vegas , just to continue eating this delicious plate. Magnificent food.”
