$9 for a SMALL soft serve twist…No thank you and never again. I definitely try to do my part and support small business, but not this much. I mean seriously, a family of four coming here is going to spend between $50 and $60. You’re not getting what you pay for ….that’s for sure. There’s no cow out back and it doesn’t come from some farm. I’m not a cheap person I just don’t like being overcharged for average tasting ice cream. Such a let down, do better.

I have never had such delicious ice cream in my life. We went there twice. The butter ocean was loaded w/Pecans. There was no air pumped into the ice cream making so smooth & yummy!

Popped into Big Daddy’s for a quick dessert on our way home from an early dinner. I tried the coffee Oreo ice cream, which was okay- it was a bit frost bitten. My mom had the almond butter crunch and salty caramel crunch and also felt similarly. Will give them the benefit of the doubt since it’s technically now off season!! We’re not ruling Big Daddy’s out.

3 of us ordered peanut butter cup ice cream. Only one of us got a single piece of peanut butter cup ?. Pretty expensive, do give a good portion size.
Expensive. Not necessarily their fault (the megacorps jack up small biz like they do consumers), it just is what it is. Long list of flavors for sure, but the black raspberry was just okay, not really what I would have wanted for $9.75. (I've loved black raspberry ice cream since I was old enough to walk.) The blueberry flavor is tastier, so if you stop in, get that instead. To me, both seemed a little corn syrup-y.
Parking: Large gravel lot.

I've been going to the Wells location for over ten years and in the past few years Big Daddy seems to have expanded into Ogunquit which is really great.
Parking: Obviously when it's busy it can be a challenge to find parking. Weekdays it's typically fine.

WARNING . . . IT’S NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE . . . I don’t often go to Wells, but when I do Big Daddy’s used to be a must. This visit was IMHO, a disappointment. The consistency was no longer that rich creamy experience. It used to be REALLY GOOD. No more. Even some of my favorite flavors were more ‘commercial essence’ that pleasant.
I enquired at some local stores, and indeed, they too suggested that Big Daddy’s had maybe changed hands or at least changed the recipe. They reported that a number of their patrons had made the same comments. Sorry Big Daddy’s, but it’s no longer the experience of which to dream. It’s no longer “calorie worthy”.

In my opinion, Big Daddy's is the best in the Wells area. The servings are generous. The ice cream is very creamy. The lines tend to be long, as the stand is very popular. Although the lines are usually long, they go very fast. Great place.
