The food was overall excellent. Starting with the calamari nicely cooked served with a not overly acidic marinara. The clam chowder was what I came for and didn't disappoint. It was full of clams and vegetables, but I noticed several other soups that sounded amazing so I tried another. The lobster stew was even better. Overall awesome experience. First stop on our trip up to Maine and it didn't disappoint. If you can - ask to sit in the back bar porch area that has wrap around windows overlooking the river marsh.
The service was great, the view was very nice, the food was just ok. Maybe chowder is different in sth Maine, but we did not care for the clam chowder at all. Very thin, watery with a layer of butter floating on top. Not many clams at all and was served just barely warm. The seafood stuffed mushroom caps- mushrooms in a small bowl with a thick layer of seafood stuffing spread across the top of the mushrooms. The stuffing was dry and uninteresting and not stuffed into the mushrooms....
