We go here all the time and have been for a few years. It normally is delicious and everything seemed to be made fresh. We went there tonight and spent $80. The chicken fingers were terrible. I couldn’t even eat them. They obviously came out of a bag and the plate was over $20. The seafood platter my husband had was not the same and did not taste like it has in the past. I understand they are short staffed, but the prices are more on the expensive side. We didn’t mind paying those prices when the quality of food matched. Sadly it has changed.

Were in the area, and hungry, so we saw Richard's sign and pulled in. Really cool looking building, so we had high hopes. Walked in and the interior is a bit outdated, but so what? It was about 12:30 on a Saturday, and there were only two other parties in there. We were greeted immediately in a very friendly, warm way. We were told to sit anywhere we wanted. Didn't hold out a lot of hope, but we left quite satisfied. We both got a cup of the Seafood Chowder. Served nice and hot, which was appreciated on a chilly, rainy day. Nothing spectacular, but pretty good. Hubby ordered a burger and fries, I ordered a "Little Appetite" shrimp and fries. At this point, other folks started coming in. We got our meals and mine was very good. The fries were quite tasty, and done well. The shrimp was okay. Maybe more, since I kept eating them after I was full. :-) Hubby said his burger was quite good. And, coming from him, that's high praise! Afterwards, we both had dessert: coconut cream pie for me, chocolate cream pie for hubby. It was pretty tasty. And, we RARELY get dessert, but were curious to try them both. I must say, the service here was great. Our waitress (I'm bummed I didn't catch her name) was very attentive and quite nice. There was definitely a tag-team effort going on between her and another waitress, which I thought was great. At one point, another woman came out from the kitchen and asked how everyone was doing, which I thought was kinda cool. All in all, it wouldn't be a destination restaurant for us, but if we're in the area and are hungry, we may stop in again.

One other patron was there when we arrived half an hour after open on a Sunday. Their stuffed meatloaf looked so good that my wife and I each got the same. A choice of two sides was included. I chose green beans and butternut squash, while my wife had mashed potatoes and coleslaw. A small portion of gravy, less than 1/4 cup, came with the meal. No condiments on on the table to befriend the salt and pepper shakers, which guarded the sugar substitute packets. We we given ketchup when we asked for some, however, and the friendly waiter did ask if we needed anything when he bought our dishes in very short order. The meatloaf was "stuffed" with broccoli and cheddar. What it looked like was two layers of meatloaf with the stuffing in between, like a sandwich, but it worked. The green beans looked like they came from a can. The butternut I'm not sure. The food wasn't bad, but bland. We were waited on quickly, and our meals were brought to us quickly. The waiter may have been new, and was happy to get answers to questions that he didn't know the answers to. The decor is dated. Hard solid plastic(?) chairs were not uncomfortable. A nautical theme pervaded the restaurant, which is know for its seafood. A humorous(?) plaque at the register indicated that the dead rise at closing time. Yikes. If the staff are that eager to leave, should potential customers enter? The location is in the middle of nowhere at the Wells/Berwick line. Take out and window service available. Picnic tables, too. Views of the woods. New carpet is needed, or cleaning of all the spots on the present carpet. Since we didn't try any seafood, we'll probably come again another time, outside of tourist season. Unique dishes available, such as Seafood Reuben. We paid with a credit card. Old-time diner checks were used. The waiter was the only staff member that we saw. He was competent. The parking lot might get full during the summer season as it doesn't seem proportional to the seating.

Food didn't seem that fresh if that is something that matters to you but I was starved and was gonna eat anything.

The waitress was very nice but overworked..there was only two people trying to do all the jobs (waiting, cooking, cleaning, and cashiering). With that, it made service slow. The food could have cooked a few minutes longer to brown it and make it crispy. The atmosphere of the setup was very nice.

I had the large fried seafood platter and--despite being one of the priciest items on the menu, I felt like I got a great deal! The large *really* was a large portion, a rarity in a world of "shrinkflation!" Delicious, perfectly cooked, and handed off by a wonderfully friendly associate! We ate outside at a picnic table beside a beautiful roaring man-made waterfall!

Parking: Generous free parking with MANY shaded spots.

Great home style restaurant, but unfortunately it is take out only at present due to labor shortage. I get food there often as it is 5 minutes from my house.

The waitress/owner Deb waited on us. We ordered 2 small lobster stews and 3 small haddock plates. We ordered onion rings and 3 drinks. The cook came to the table 2 times to get the order straight. When it came, there were no onion rings, drinks, silverware, and napkins. The table next to us brought them to us when they were getting their own silverware. The drinks never came. Paying was even more of a treat because the bill came to 106 bucks. So after 6 count them 6 attempts to get the owner to add numbers straight my wife stepped in and 20 minutes later the bill was paid. If she’s not on drugs she might be getting some sort of dementia. We’ve been going there for years! And the food was ok! The owner needs to either get help or get her mind together.
