Ice cream is okay and thats about it...don't expect any friendliness especially from the young girl. Zero customer service skills. Takes forever just to get a scoop of ice cream.

Tucked away in Ogunquit, Maine, is a charming ice cream shop that feels like a hidden treasure. Step inside and be transported to a simpler time, where vintage décor and pastel colors create a cozy retreat. What makes this place truly special is the owner, who greets you with a genuine smile and serves up scoops of delicious homemade ice cream. The ice cream selection is a delightful mix of classics and creative flavors, including soft serve. The owner's personal touch and recommendations add a warm and friendly vibe that makes every visit feel like reconnecting with an old friend.

I really nice hole-in-the-wall ice cream place! Good ice cream, a ton of flavors and the prices are better than most around.

Years ago my parents would stop here to pick up cheeses they were unfamiliar with, salami and crackers and they would find nice little spots in the area for a romantic picnics. It was a fun, inexpensive thing that became a tradition for them. Recently over dinner my mom was telling me about these memories she had with my father and she commented how she was sad to see the cheese place had closed down when she had last driven by. So imagine my surprise when I was camping across the street and I noticed that the cheese place had an "open" sign in the window and a car in the parking lot! I insisted to my fiancé that we immediately pop in so I could surprise my mom with some treats from here.Needless to say when we walked in I was utterly shocked. There was one tiny case of cheeses and none were interesting or unusual. I considered purchasing a wedge of one when I noticed that there was mold on some of them (and not in a bleu cheese kind of way). They had some pepperoni for sale but it was unappetizingly sliced onto a paper plate and wrapped in cellophane. It was at this point that I noticed that there were flies buzzing around everywhere. From behind me I heard my fiancé mumble "gross" and I followed his gaze to a nearby meat slicer that had old meat sitting on it which was undoubtedly the source of all the flies. The store carries a reasonably large selection of beer/wine and also some snacks but I can't imagine ever purchasing them. The store was truly filthy with old, empty cardboard boxes strewn everywhere and my fiancé said when he was looking at some of the beers he noticed black mold on some of the edges of the refrigerated cases. It's truly sad. The building shaped like a wheel of cheese used to be a fun, easily recognizable landmark and I'm sure many people, like my mom, have fond memories of this place but unless massive improvements are made it's no longer worth stopping by.

I used to come here a lot but their hours are not accurate online. I tried 3 times on Friday Saturday and Sunday and could never catch them open. I'd love to buy some but I never can!!!

Best ice cream shop in the area. Reasonably priced and large portions. Don't be deceived by building appearance. It's awesome. The staff are wonderful young ladies. Tip large, please.

Horrible experience, this used to be our go to spot when we came to vacation in Maine. They used to have Giffords ice cream and STILL have these flavors presented on the menu but when you order them they don’t give you anything close to what you ordered. I ordered peanut butter pie which is my favorite ice cream from Maine and I got plain peanut butter icecream nothing in it. When asked they said oh we got dropped by Giffords icecream so we don’t serve that anymore. Talk about false advertisement and then selling and serving you ice cream they didn’t even have!!! I would never go to this ice cream shop! Bunch of liars and stealing money from people when they are trying to buy Giffords flavors.

A great little place to get ice cream that doesn't have as long lines as scoop deck. It seems to be owner operated and they had a great selection of soft and hard serve ice cream. The sizes they give you are crazy I would recommend sizing down unless you are really hungry.

Stopped here many years ago and were amused but also a bit grossed out by the out of date products scattered on near empty and dusty shelves - as well as the strange odor and just overall dirty appearance of everything. We always joke about it when passing by the mouse on the cheese wheel. Today we decided to stop - since its been years and maybe has changed. Walking in first noticed right inside entry door mice have pulled insulation out of wall around an outlet and clearly made nest with it. right on the floor. Then the smell - mold? mice? really hard to say. In short, nothing much has changed. A place doesn't need to be spotless to be clean. It seems they are either unaware that mice are pulling out insulation or they just dont care to clean it it. The WHOLE place needs a deep cleaning, painting (lighter colors) and a REBOOT. Kind of sad for such a great location.
