Winthrop House of Pizza - Main St ME

I would 0 stars if I could. Tried to order on the phone for delivery (apparently out of their delivery range, even though they've delivered to me numerous times never communicated that it was out of range) and then tried to pick up but pay over the phone and they owner said they wont be taking payment over the phone because it charges them a higher fee? I tried to ask why and the owner was passive aggressive and refused to even let me finish my question and hung up on me. Have been a lifelong customer, ordering them since I was a kid but wont be back. Absolutely miss the old owners and the quality of food has tremendously gone down hill since he's been gone, very sad

The pizza was excellent, maybe a little more sauce, but really good. Will go back.

The fries were good but that was about it. I watched how they made and barely wrapped my cheeseburger sub. I would recommend this place if there was nothing else open. Which is what happened. My son is gluten free and there was only two places open close by. While I'm extremely grateful, they made his pizza and he seemed to enjoy it.Everything else was disappointing. I will be back to give it a second chance.But not for a long while.

I've never dined in here, but I often get delivery. I'm from New Jersey originally, so it's really tough to find what I consider "good" pizza here in Maine. I really, really dislike how thick the crust is, but it's the only place that delivers in the area. Their gyros and fries are pretty good. However, you will have to ask for extra tsatsiki sauce every time, and extra dressing for your salads, because what they give standard isn't adequate. I will keep eating from here when I'm too lazy to drive because they are the only place that delivers. I must say the staff is wonderful and so kind and helpful always.
PS-I didn't rate the atmosphere because I've never been inside.

We're visiting Winthrop, Maine. We saw they have gluten free pizza but instead of that I asked if they would make me a Cheesesteak sandwich on lettuce and they did! It was delicious.
My husband really enjoyed his meatball sub.

Ordered subs, gyro, onion rings and buffalo chicken tenders. Everything was yummy and fresh. This is our go to place for a satisfying quick and easy takeout dinner while we are at our camp. Thank you!

Beware! While on a trip we decided to order pizza on the last night. We were browsing and saw this place and the website said they prefer to receive orders through the slice app. We were reluctant but downloaded it anyway and placed our order. We ordered at 540 and the delivery time said 715 and that seemed a bit too late for the small children so I called at 630 almost an hour after I ordered and they said we can make it now it will be 20 minutes, which would have been about the same time as delivery(we were staying in a house 2 streets over from them) so I called them immediately back and told them I'll just wajt for the delivery the kid said okay that's no problem. 720 comes around, 2 crying children later I call and see what's going on and the kid said for some reason it's here on the oven. I decided to leave and pick it up. When I got there a woman said she had no idea what happened and why it was on the oven. Zero communication. No one had any idea what was going on. We ordered early because we have small children who eat early. Nothing was offered to us, no dessert no free appetizer nothing taken off our bill. The pizza was good not very hot ofcourse but it was tasty. Don't use the app, dont wait for delivery, go in person, order, and take it out. I've never been so happy to have chosen cash tip atleast I wasn't also out 15 more dollars I was going to leave as a tip! Just be careful.

Ordered 2 steak bombs. A older Italian man started grabbing the steak with bare hands after handling cash and putting it on the grill. Then a Woman came inside from smoking a cigarette. Didn’t wash her hand or use gloves and immediately started preparing our food. Then reached in her shirt for something and continued making the food I had already paid for. I left and threw $24 of lunch in the trash because of how unsanitary it was
