The first time for the 6 of us. Beautiful lobby and the Rix restaurant is on the third floor which is part inside and part outside. Very comfortable and chic with views to the outside. Service was wonderful by Kelly and very upbeat. Everything we had was delicious. Calamari, beet salad, short ribs, scallops, cioppino special, walleye and lamb kofta. We all would definitely go again. Oh, and they have a new chef who is wonderful!

We felt rushed out even though they closed at 12 am. We had nice service but don’t complain if you have people at 11 if you’re open til 12.

We celebrated my hubby’s birthday here on July 30 with table reservation. It took a long time for the waitress with a curly hair to bring us water. Their were two waitress ( one of them was probably on training) , both of them didn’t even introduce themselves to us. There was another guy who picked up our appetizer plate off the table without asking if we were done with it. My husband ordered an Arnold Palmer, he had to ask for that to be serve as well. They didn’t apologize for serving it so late. They have limited food selection in the menu. Vitale’s has a better chicken risotto. Three pieces of scallops cost $38. The waitress sang a Happy Birthday song to the table next to us, but not to my husband. Why ? Out of the kindness of my heart, I still gave the waitress 20% tip. The ambience is more like TGI Fridays with curtains backdrop. My son, husband and I agreed not to go back to this place. I would not recommend this place. The only thing good in this place is having a very well known location —Ada ( bearing a famous name)! By the way, my family live only 3 minutes away from Ada Hotel where this restaurant is located inside.

We tried Rix for the first time tonight. Ordered 3 apps and 1 entree to share.
Calamari - a little soggy and not very flavorful. 4/10
Duck wings - great taste. But pricey for just 3 pieces. 2 ounces of meat for 20 bucks is just not the move.
Truffle fries - 8/10. Pretty solid no complaints.
The disappointment of the evening was the walleye. It was maybe 5 ounces. Absolutely abominable portion and completely bland - I understand (and enjoy) upscale dining but not to have an expensive dish and a tasteless one. The ambience is good but the service was slow. We will most certainly not be returning.

✨ Hidden gem alert! Nestled inside a cute hotel, Rix is a whole vibe. You can take the stairs or hop the elevator to the top floor, where you’re greeted with a stunning, airy space—both indoor and outdoor seating options that feel elevated and cozy at the same time.
The staff? 10/10. So friendly, genuinely kind, and full of great recs. We felt taken care of the entire night.
Drinks:
- Pinot Grigio - crisp and light
- N/A Spritz - refreshing and cute
- La Pera Fumar - such a standout! Balanced, spicy, and sooo satisfying.
Food:
- Rix House Pulled Burrata - served with pita, cherry tomatoes, and balsamic. Melt-in-your-mouth fresh. My friends devoured it. Literally licked the bowl clean.
- Grilled Otto’s Chicken - one word, yum!
- Baked Spaghetti Squash - made dietary free for me! and you couldn’t even tell that the bolognese was made of veggies. It was unexpectedly rich and flavorful. I need that dish again.
Not sure who left the bad reviews, but we had an amazing time. Good food, great service, and such a cute spot to post up.
Would absolutely go again and bring more friends next time. 💫

One of the best restaurants in Ada. Every single thing we ate was a 10 and our drinks were all very wonderful. They even had a good mocktail selection as well. We got the burrata to start and it was lovely. Then I had the chicken for dinner and the flavors all worked so well together. I will be dreaming of the chicken until I come back again!

Atmosphere is beautiful and top notch for west Michigan. Service was so poor. We’d all arrived and the server would come out and seemingly take one or two of our drinks orders and disappear (we had reservations with a bigger group so we were expected). We ended up waiting to put in drink orders for over fifteen minutes. Then we had to ask to place our food orders, and I was so surprised as the wait staff left before taking it despite acknowledging my request to take it. We had to ask twice for drinks we’d already ordered. We waited long for the check at the conclusion and also had to ask more than once for it. Food was underwhelming and nothing special—especially for the price point. Would not recommend except for a drink on a nice patio.

Love the rooftop, atmosphere, and drinks here but this is the second time we've had way too slow of service. Filet also came out well done after a medium rare order. We really like upscale in this location so, please do better!

My mom and I visited Rix at the ADA Hotel for brunch today and we really enjoyed ourselves. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was full of welcoming energy. The food was great. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
Brian, the manager, was super professional and incredibly kind and attentive. He made sure we were well taken care of. Jodie, our server, was also fantastic. She was sweet and made our experience even more enjoyable with her great service.
We are already looking forward to coming back and cannot wait to make Rix our summer spot. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a wonderful atmosphere.
I ordered beef short ribs with grits and brussel sprouts. I was served beef pot roast and cous cous with cheese, and brussel sprouts that were almost raw. Server did her best with my questions, not her fault that they didn't serve what was on the menu.

A charming atmosphere and the food is *decent*, but overall, it left me underwhelmed. While the dishes we ordered had good flavor, the portion sizes were disappointingly small for the price point. The cocktails looked great on the menu, but once the bill came, I had a little sticker shock. Not quite the value I was hoping for. Might be worth a try if you’re looking for an upscale night out, but be ready to splurge for not much substance.

We recently hosted a private event at Rix, and I cannot recommend it enough! Their team was incredibly accommodating and brought our vision to life.
You absolutely must try the Charred Tenderloin, it's hands down the best steak in Grand Rapids! The cocktail menu is also impressive, every drink is unique and is served with fun garnishes in fun glassware.
We already can't wait for our next date night there! Highly recommend Rix for any occasion, big or small!
