Our first time here & we loved it! Service was amazing, thank you, Raven! The Shepherds Pie was so good, love the little pot of gravy on the side. Drinks were really good as well! Only downside, we were on a long overdue date night & had to get home to our babysitter, so we opted to take dessert to go, our leftovers were bagged up & left for us at the table along with the check, we paid the check, grabbed our bag & went home. When we got home, our dessert was not in the bag, although we had paid for it. So, we will have to return back for a refund or our dessert. Overall, excellent.

An exceptional waiter named Steven just restored my faith in humanity! He was a top notch server all through our delicious dinner, but his true colors really shined through when I asked for a decaf. Steven apologetically explained that The Post does not serve decaf, only caffeinated expresso. Five minutes later Steven produced a piping hot decaf from Foxtail coffee down the street. He had gone down there and bought one for me!! Steven, I will never forget that kindness and dedication to your profession. You are one amazing human! Thank you !

The IPA fish and chips were delicious! The breading on the fish was crispy and golden. The fish was flaky and not too dry. The fries were crispy and salty, and the poppyseed coleslaw was fantastic. We had a large group of people, and during a busy lunch hour we did have to wait quite a long time for our food. They ended up forgetting one of our dishes, so one person in our party did not get their food at the same time as everyone else. However, when all the food did finally come out, it was hot, and fresh. I will be back!

The atmosphere at The Post Tavern is phenomenal! You can sit at the open restaurant and gaze at the river and all the dense trees. Great wait staff who are very quick and extremely friendly. I wish they had more options for vegetarians besides the veggie meatballs, but other than that this place is one of the best places to go for fantastic drinks and beautiful scenery!

Some of the best food in Grand Rapids. The type of menu you look at and can't decide because TOO MANY things sound so good. A few of my favorites that I keep going back for are the Charred Ahi Tuna, the SMASH BURGER (best ever!), and the Carrot Cake. Chef Tilmann nails it every time!
Our bartender who served us drinks while waiting for our table couldn’t have done a better job. Once we were seated we waited 20 min and no one ever served us or came to our table so we left. Multiple servers walked by and I think even the chef. They weren’t very busy. We told a staff member what happened on our way out and no offer to help rectify anything. Very weird experience for a place that looks this nice.

Our server, PJ, was excellent! Fresh silverware and napkins with each dish. He was truly a delight. The wine list is appalling. The wines are low quality. I ordered fish and chips. The portion was plentiful but not crispy. The carrot cake was shockingly poor quality and obviously not made inhouse. The apps were the best part of our dinner. We ordered the crab cakes and the cauliflower.

We’ve been to The Post Tavern 5 or 6 times now, and every single visit blows us away. The atmosphere is unmatched—this place is absolutely beautiful and feels like a little escape from the everyday.
We make a point to try something new from the menu each time, and we’ve never been disappointed. You can really tell there’s heart and soul behind every dish, which is rare to find in this area. The drinks are just as impressive!
Even with a large group for a recent birthday dinner, the service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. Easily some of the best service we’ve had in West Michigan. Highly recommend!
