I took the advice of online and the almond filled pastry was to die for. We came later in the day, so I can’t imagine how yummy it would be if you got there early in the morning. Their lady at the counter was also very nice.
10 years ago I set out on a journey stopping along the way through different states rating different bakeries and primarily cinnamon rolls and fritters. The Dutch oven is good but I think way too much sugar is used. I've tried johanns in Petoskey, and I have to be honest that Johannes has the better of the two . I love donuts. Not enough places sell donuts anymore. Seems like Meijer and Walmart get frozen donuts delivered from some factory and pretend they're fresh.
This place is still selling great donuts and they're making them fresh. I try to stop and get a couple every time I go by. Haven't had a bad donut and the staff is always friendly.
