Hadn’t been here in years as I moved away but stopped in for lunch and it was even better than I remembered. Dad Shoes IPA: 10/10. Cheese Steak: 11/10. Bathrooms: clean, and stocked with soap and paper so 10/10! Will definitely make it a destination when I come to Alpena.

Stopped in today for lunch and had the most AMAZING server. I didn't catch his name, but he made the entire dining experience, from seating us, to offering beer suggestions, absolutely the best! Will definitely be back! And I sure hope he's working again! Customer service was completely over the top!

Would have been 5 stars, BUT … they now will pass on a 3% credit card / debit card surcharge to you. This was previously referred to as “the cost of doing business” … bring cash!!! Otherwise, great food (far better than any pub/tavern) in Northern Michigan. Equally good service too… We have patronized Austin Brothers many times when in Alpena and will continue to do so.

I had dinner with some friends and their family here. The staff was patient and friendly, and the food was delicious and generous. My burger really hit the spot, and had the right amount of spice and cheese. The beer was top notch in quality, and I found the Slamnesia triple IPA to be my favorite. I can see why I’ve seen their beer sold even down in my neck of the woods. This is a great all around brewery.

Fantastic Brew Pub. The NRTHRN LTS and the NRTHRN SPY beers are recommended. The food was excellent. My wife had the Brisket Sandwich, and I had the Philly Cheese Steak; both were delicious. The French Fries were A++ and the potato Salad A+. Our waitress, Heidi, provided professional service. We will Be Back!

Made a pit stop here for dinner on our way to Presque Isle. The overall atmosphere was relaxing yet family friendly. It is very difficult to find a true smoked brisket sandwich at a restaurant, but this place nailed it! And the strawberry cheesecake was the perfect ending to our meal. We will definitely come back when we come through the area again!
