I’ve been wanting to try this place for so long and today I saw the special posted, the Pierogies, I asked my husband to stop and get it since he was up there. He brought it all the way back to Barton City where I warmed it and it was still outstanding!!! Well done. I knew I was going to love these flavor combos. Can’t wait to try everything else.

Ok folks all I can say about this place is it's FAR OUT MAN! Gonna add a plug here for my nieces tattoo shop, the Lucky rabbit tattoo in Alpena because of it wasn't for going there to get my first tat (I'm 60) I would have never got to check this cool place out. What a great experience they both were. They're both true artists. My wife had the Boss Hog bowl and I the Tony Burrone burrito. Too many ingredients to list but I will say this the way they rocked it out was nothing less than groovy!! Just check out the photos. Thanks guys, peace out until we come again because this place is what road trips were made for!!

I love Hungry Hippie! The food is always fresh and full of flavor. The Bubble Tea is delicious. Service is topnotch! This place is a local gem! Rockin' Roll Teriyaki Bowl w/xtra avocado & strawberry/pomegranate bubble tea is my go-to! I love this place!

First time and not my last time eating there. I'm from the down state and was looking for a local place to eat and came across the hungry hippie. I ordered the backyard bbq bowl, and it was amazing. The service was top notch from when I walked in till I left. The atmosphere was awesome. I love to hippie vibe it had going for it. When back up this way, I will definitely go again.
Always my go-to if I have the day off and need some lunch. Their smoothies are always delicious, the employees are always so sweet (seriously, every last one of them). I am always really grateful for their environment and service. Aaand their food is always 10/10.

I love the hungry hippie! I've been coming here for years. I make an effort to stop at least once everytime I'm in Alpena. I love the food, the ideas, and the quality of the ingredients.
Unfortunately the customer service needs work. This is not the first or second time either. Your experience will depend on who's working that day. For example, my most recent order I asked for NO corn. It was on the receipt, and even written on my to go box. Still got corn. Ordered nachos and never received chips? Had to drive back to get them. Woof. For the price of items I fully expect to get what I asked for. It seems that the current crew is younger gals in high school. Which is fine, but customer service should be first, not their phones.

It was a tough decision between 4 or 5 stars but I decided with giving them 5. I got the free bird burrito, chips and queso, plus bubble tea. I knew the burrito was going to be different but it lacked flavor which was surprising since it had a lot in it. The chips and queso were good but not special seemed like it came out of a bulk container. I did really enjoy the pineapple strawberry bubble tea. I wish the burrito/chips were better and that is why I was going to give them 4 but the menu did have other items like bowls, tacos, and nachos that caught my attention and make me want to go back since the food was enjoyable just think I didn’t pick out the right burritos for what I was looking for, plus the food is reasonably priced.
Vegetarian options: Almost everything on their menu has a vegetarian option or can be easily made vegetarian
