We recently got married and initially planned on going through JJs for our catering needs. First of all, when I tried to contact them through their contact form on the website, I never got a response. So I decided just to call. I’m assuming it was the owner who answered the phone and he immediately made me feel like I was an inconvenience for even calling. I was greeted with a very unfriendly “Hello” and was quickly handed off to his secretary. I don’t even think he said goodbye when he hung up! So I call the secretary, we go over information and she tells me that she put us down for our date and to let them know when we’ve chosen what foods we’d like. Didn’t give me any information on how many apps, mains, sides, etc. we would need. About a week or so later, I send them an email with our choices and some questions about the amount of food. NEVER got a response, I waited a good month or so. Nothing! At that point, I didn’t even want to work with them. I sent another email stating we would be going with another caterer and to please take us off their list for our wedding date. Again, never got a single email response! We did end up going through them for our tableware rental, as there really isn’t many options in Alpena for that. Same thing again, when we’d call the phone number, we were very rudely greeted by who I’m only assuming was the owner, we just felt like a huge inconvenience for calling them. The day before our wedding when we’re at the venue to set up, we had to wait around for the tableware to be delivered (and the venue was right across the street). We had to call multiple times to see when it would be delivered. PLEASE, look elsewhere for your catering! We ended up going with someone else and had the best customer service!

JJ's did a phenomenal job setting everything up for my up north wedding. We had a big tent, a dance floor, tables, 100 chairs and a small tent. The staff walked the lot with my Dad a week before the wedding to get an idea of what we would need then set up on Thursday (the day before the wedding.) They were quick and professional and the rentals were all high quality. They also did a very good job with the take down process. It was a pleasure working with JJ's.
