Good food but very long wait and one of the waiters was in a visibly bad mood. 90 minutes before we got our entree

Fabulous food, excellent service and a European flair. Wonderful!
Cute eastern European place in Ann Arbor. Part of a dying breed of restaurant it is one of a kind. Small space with unique decor that has has so much going on it is impossible to take in all in one visit. The food is outstanding, and they are doing something no one else in town is doing, or has been doing.

This is an old world restaurant. That said, the food is delicious, slow-cooked, and very carb heavy with lots of potatoes, noodles, breaded meat, cabbage, very much like my polish grandmother would cook Unfortunately, if you are a FODMAP or gluten intolerant/celiac person there are lots of land mines. And the menu doesn't specify. The waiter, while he could have been, was less than forthcoming. He seemed almost insulted when faced with our notice that we had to eat without gluten. Being gluten intolerant is not like being any version of vegan. It is not a fussy choice. It is a necessity. As a result of whatever was bothering him while serving us, he did the bare minimum he could. Plates came as necessary, pleasant conversation was nil, and no smiles to be had. We couldn't wait to leave.
And this is another restaurant where if the drink orders are not big enough, the service changes, as we saw with tables near us. Seems to be a thing these days. While the wine and beer list are prolific, the non-alcohol choices are few if any, i.e. coffee and hot tea and not welcomed. Summary: Good food, heavy on the carbs and alcohol. Pleasantries limited.

The place is so cozy, artistic, and welcoming. The food was so good (specially the bread) and the service was phenomenal. We were a group of 16 that crashed without a reservation and they accommodated us and served us so warmly. Special recognition to the waitress, Agnes for walking us through the menu, the beautiful art, and the story of the place.
Definitely a hidden gem in AA.
Absolutely fantastic, must visit place in Ann Arbor

We love small, unique restaurants with great food and Amadeus did not disappoint. We walked in at 5:40 for our 6 pm reservation last weekend and were promptly seated, The waiter made great drink/beer recommendations (watch out for the alcohol content in the Polish beer!!). Our food was awesome - better than my what my Irish momma trying to make Polish food could produce!
Two of us had pierogis, one had chicken paprikash and one had the salmon with potato pancakes (the presentation on this dish was spectacular). There were a lot of clean plates!
We will definitely be going back and adding Amadeus to our regular rotation.

It’s one of those reviews that should have been actually a 5 start, but due to poor choices on Valentine's Day 2025 it’s definitely a 3.
Pros:
Food is actually good, no complains there aside from few suggestions that could have made it “great”.
Atmosphere is very pleasant. Amazing decor, attention to details, fresh flowers and good live music. Joseph Pratt was absolutely amazing playing the guitar, which added ambiance and very tranquil vibe. Service was professional, but quite distant and… I don’t know… chilly?
Cons:
My husband and I are big foodies, Im from Ukraine, so we were very excited to try out this restaurant with a very polish spin cuisine. The dinner menu was very promising and I was excited to try out a few things.
Alas. For whatever unknown reason to me that I’m not able to comprehend Valentine’s Day grants a special 5 course menu, with fixed dishes, where some of the items, like appetisers and dessert are…shared? And all of that for 55$ per person. So if you don’t want soup or salad, tough luck … feel free not to order it, but still pay up 55$ (and of course that doesn’t include alcohol). I did some math and if we’d ordered the same items and shared them on a regular day, it would be 42$, per person. So another 13$ up charge, plus drinks, plus gratuity.
Oookay, 13 buck isn’t a deal breaker BUT.. it’s the lack of choice and flexibility for me.
I didn’t wanted the soup but since I’m paying 55$ I may as well try it. So I ordered Borshtch (beat soup), (duh). It was okay, no sour cream cream though? Cmon guys, beat soup with no sour cream, what’s up with that? Bread was cold, big no-no. Suggest slightly heating it up next time. No one enjoys eating cold bread.
Appetisers: since those were shared we had to order something that I didn’t actually wanted because my husband can’t eat certain foods on the menu. We ordered Kolbasa, about 5 inches, with such a tiny amount of garnish (carrots, cabbage) that I thought the veggies are in high supply deficit. During a regular dinner we’d ordered two items, but with this menu - you can’t, share a small sausage, please.
Salad: came with very little dressing, making it rather dry, no salt or pepper was offered. Dressing wasn’t too seasoned, so the salad was kinda blend.
Desert: was shared, very tasty but not enough for two people.
To summarise: what could have been a great gastronomical experience was kinda, well, not ruined, but very disappointing. The unexplained up charge, taking into consideration shared items were small, saving on garnish and dressing all of that was kinda ugh. And for what, Valentine’s Day - pink day tax?

If you require a reservation, you need to state that clearly, front and center, on your website and put the information as to how to make that reservation as well. We came at 6 pm on a Friday- after having checked whether a reservation was needed on the website- and were told, after waiting a half hour for parking, that they were unable to seat us without a reservation. By that point it was too late for us to go anywhere else downtown without a 2-3 hour wait. Ruined our entire evening after we paid for a sitter for a date night out and everything, and the annoying thing is just a little bit of consideration and clarity of information would have fixed it.
