Argus and Roos Roast are among our favorite haunts in Ann Arbor for coffee and unwinding. These are the kinds of quirky joints that used to be all over the place, largely effaced now by corporate chains and highly polished upscale ($$$$) experiences. Argus reminds me of a place I used to hang out in in Portland, OR, when I was a Reedie. Great coffee, friendly service, and a no-frills but comfortable place to hang out, get caffeinated, and tackle some recreational reading.
In addition, Argus is rooting for you. That probably means you'll receive total consciousness on your deathbed. So you'll have that going for you.

Stumbled on a gem! 💎 My blueberry-cherry ice cream was made infront of me and pre-made peach on the cob ice cream has made my top ice creams list (as difficult to achieve as being drafted for the super bowl). Everything is locally sourced too!

Summertime ice cream is my favorite here! Highly recommend the dairy free ice cream. Argus is always fun for trivia and just to gather or do work. Highly recommend if you’re in aa!

Not a super friendly atmosphere. The lavender syrup is also not the best, it tastes burnt:( I expected more at the prices for all the items. The southwest small salad had only a handful of actual spinach leaves. I did get some local strawberries that are great. I would like more options with chicken or something instead of just vegan options.

Great place to chill, love the vibe here great selection given their size
Great spot to stop for some coffee. Focused on local and Michigan products.
I was in the store at 8:40PM with my daughters and ordered an ice. I could tell the girl behind the counter was annoyed because I arrived 20 minutes prior to closing. I Quickly used the restroom. Because we really liked the ice cream I asked to order one more. She refused to serve me stating that they had closed the machine down. I told her we just ordered one and we want one more. She wouldn't look at me when she declined. I felt unwanted because I came in the store 20 minutes before closing.
Great honey matcha. Good food options.
Food is a little pricy - have that in mind.
Honestly not super impressed with the cafe side, I didn’t even get a hi or how are at the counter, I just didn’t feel very welcome in there. Lots of young college students unaware of their surroundings, and no manners from anyone I encountered, hopefully next time will be different
