The food came impressively quickly and was very good. Complimentary hot tea is provided, and tasted great. Service is direct, yes, but not impolite. The workers were kind and speedy. We actually appreciated that there was no background music, so it was calm. Overall, would come again as their menu offers items that other restaurants in Ann Arbor do not.

Love Asian Legend. Have been coming / doing take out from them for years. Chicken with mixed vegetables is one of our favorites. Never dissapoints.

Not super fancy, but excellent food. They serve both Amercian style and authentic Taiwanese/Chinese. I'm American so I can't vouch for authenticity but it all tastes delicious to me! Reasonably priced as well.

One of the dish tasted burnt, and the attitude was really bad. Will not come back again.

I'm not sure why this place isn't rated higher. My guess is that it's because it's not more Americanized, but every time I come here I've left full and happy. Lots of options for every guest's diet.

Excellent in every way. One of our Ann Arbor Favorites. Excellent food and service. We always get special treatment when we come here.

Asian shame in my opinion.

Compulsory 18% tip + 3% credit card fee + refuse American Express payment + almost no service.

Food is just mediocre, thanks to the non-competitive environment of Ann Arbor.

Strongly not recommended.

I went with my girlfriend and we just wanted some water and somehow got schooled by the owner. If you want “service” you should definitely go to this restaurant. “Best service “ in Ann Arbor. Oh but if you are WHiTE, what I just said won’t apply to you. As the owner will treat you like a literal GOD and be your good servant. Oh there’s a 18% “service” fee.

I absolutely love Asian Legend. If you’re not familiar with Taiwanese food—it is probably the most comforting Asian style food to eat, with sweet and savory flavors that expand your pallet without being overpowering.

Asian Legend is an unassuming family owned establishment that prides itself on delicious food, fast service and quality.

Don’t mistake their directness for rudeness; the owners are lovely people and want to service you as quickly as possible.

As a beverage, you are given hot tea by default. If you want water, all you have to do is ask for it.

The best way to eat is family style—ordering two or so dishes per person.

For someone just getting started, I’d recommend the following:

• Minced Pork Over Rice (Lu Rou Fan)
• Seaweed dried tofu (bean curd)
• Taiwanese Rice Noodles w/ Minced Pork
• Taiwanese Cabbages with Garlic
• Onion pancake (Fried Scallion Pancake)
• Fried tofu with basil (also known as three cup tofu)
• Pepper Salt Chicken [so good, a must try]

Super yummy Taiwanese style food at Asian Legend! Staff are great knowing our favorite dishes !! When we made mistakes ordering wrong dishes the owners gave us the right dish ;-). Consider the staff are so busy they are very quick and speak direct which sometimes people don’t understand would took it as impolite ! But they do care if we are happy with our time there!!

I don’t live in Ann Arbor anymore but I still make it a point to stop by every time I visit. Their Taiwanese food is absolutely unmatched, if you want the real deal, this is the spot. Their Lou Ro Fan is one of my favorites in the whole world (and I live in NYC and visit Taiwan regularly), their scallion pancakes are crispy and delicious, and their basil tofu is to die for. If you want a truly authentic, Taiwanese experience that leave you feeling warm and full, this is the place to go!

This restaurant used to be good , but recent visits were a disappointment. Everything seemed to have the same brown, heavy sauce as the main flavoring. Hard to find pork in the pork dish. The soup was good. My suggestion: go elsewhere.
