There was some kind of snafu with my online order, and the woman working the counter was so kind and so helpful sorting it.
Extra excited to see some gluten-free and vegan quick-serve options in such a kind and neighborly spot!
Very happy with the vegan options here! The matcha was good, not too grassy and not too milky. I got the Avalon Hash, which comes with a very large portion, I could have split it with someone. The tofu was not my favorite, it could use some time marinating in the sauce. Other than that, I was happy with the vibes in here! We also got their vegan cosmic brownie to go. We warmed it up in the microwave a week after purchasing, and it was rich, hot chocolate deliciousness!
We just had the pleasure of eating here. Coming from out of town (Maine) came across this gem. Top notch food and wonderful service from our waitress and staff. Will be back again next time we are in town. Thank you so much

I can’t say enough good things about this coffee shop. Recently, I was here with a friend who suddenly felt faint, and the staff jumped into action right away. They brought her water and food without hesitation and made sure she was comfortable until she felt better. Their kindness and quick response turned what could have been a scary situation into one where we felt truly cared for.
On top of their amazing service, the coffee and food are excellent, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. It’s rare to find a place where people genuinely look out for their customers, but this coffee shop goes above and beyond. Highly recommend not just for the great drinks, but for the wonderful people behind the counter.

Amazing hidden gem. It’s located right next to Pretzel Bell on Main Street. Lots of folks seem to order coffee and leave, but they are truly missing out on some delicious food! The smoked Salmon toast is absolutely amazing. Most of the servers are good, though, I’ve had a couple that seemed surprised to find that they were on the clock and shocked when I asked for a coffee refill. Still, the consternation is well worth it for the high quality food and coffee! The atmosphere is Ann Arbor in a nutshell. Give this place a try! You won’t regret it.

I’ve loved Avalon Cafe in A2 for several years but since they recently moved right next to Pretzel Bell, sharing a chef and kitchen, the standard of excellence that I was used to is no more. We ordered from the Avalon Brunch side of the menu. The French toast and eggs came to our table cold with no way to warm them up, according to the manager, since there is no microwave. The usually delicious avocado toast from the old restaurant (with an egg over easy ) was served to me with an overcooked egg on top. Both the manager and server were not helpful when we asked to warm up our food. The manager was quite rude. Overall, we were very disappointed and will not be returning .

We had the worst service experience at Avalon. I have eaten at Avalon a few times before and the service and food has been excellent so it was very disappointing that we were treated really bad by one of our waitress, Ashley. She made rude and aggressive comments towards our family from the beginning. Throughout the time in the restaurant, she was passive aggressive and rude, but the worst part was at the end. My father and mother both ordered a French onion soup and we only got one, until we notified another waitress about it who got it for us towards the end of our meal and told us she would only charge us for one soup because of the lateness. At the end, we received two separate bills from different waitresses. The first one from second waitress took off one of the soups like the she had told us and the second one was from Ashley who charged us for two soups. I’m not sure how this restaurant is operated and why there is no communication between waitresses but we had to notify Ashley who came to pick up our bill that the other waitress had told us she would take the soup off our bill. Ashley then stormed off with our bill and came back and said “You got your free soup so don’t forget to tip!” She yelled at us and we were very shocked at her behavior. My family and I have never been treated this way in our life. I’m not sure if we were treated this way because we are Asian and were speaking Korean mainly at our table. But this is very unacceptable and I won’t be coming back.

The baked goods are so inconsistent some times i go in there and they’re fresh and moist and so good and some times they’re so dry and bad and im so mad i wasted my money on it. Im not sure how I can order the same thing and its either amazing or gross.

Food was bland, needed salt. Service took a while to respond even though it wasn’t busy at all. Bread and fruit was good
