It was good but nothing special.

This is my favorite place to eat sushi in Ann Arbor! It's a small space and doesn't get quite the hype that Totoro does, but that only makes it an overlooked gem. The servers are friendly and tend to you quite well. The sushi itself comes out quickly and is always very delicious. I recommend getting the 911 roll if you can handle a little bit of spice. In the summer I recommend calling ahead of time to make sure they are open because sometimes their listed as open online when they're closed for the day.

All three different rolls tasted the same and looked the same.

Top notch sushi and Japanese Cuisine in AnnArbor. Great service and chic atmosphere. Seating is limited so huge parties wouldn't be the best, but it provides a great intimate space to dine and meet! Food came in a timely manner, and the bento box is second to none.

Food Poisoning:(. Hard to say much beyond that. Eaten here many times, but this time, spicy tuna roll was bad. Called them to talk about and they were pretty lousy in response, "send me your hospital bill and maybe we'll send it to our insurer." (Note to owner: how about, "I'm so sorry. What can we do to make this better?") I'll warn other diners directly instead-two of us ate here, 1 had the spicy tuna, other did not. 24 hours of absolute misery for the one that ate that. Started an hour after leaving. Be safe and avoid Ayaka.

The best sushi on South U, if that's what you're looking for look no further. The restaurant is small and has an intimate atmosphere, and the service is great to match.

Great Sushi there! I took a dinner with my friend tonight at this place. We had three sushi rolls together + got soup and side salad and we paid only 20 something bucks! No wonder this place is always full of people. Sea eel is amazing there!

I've walked by this restaurant multiple times, and today my friends and I decided to get a simple dinner at Ayaka. I wasn't too hungry, so I decided to get a Plain Udon, while my friends got the Alaskan Salmon Roll and Seafood Salad. I probably should have expected it from it's name, but the Plain Udon was very "plain." I was literally served udon noodles in broth with some spices on the side. My friends seemed to really enjoy their dishes though. Orders: - Plain Udon (2/5) - Alaskan Salmon Roll (4/5) - Seafood Salad (4/5) Pros: - Great location on campus - Good variety of Japanese-Korean fusion - Good variety of rolls - Food came out pretty quickly Cons: - Small restaurant ~ Not the best for large groups - Mediocre tasting food ~ My friends seemed to enjoy their seafood dishes, but my Plain Udon was very plain Overall: - Ayaka is your standard, mediocre Japanese fusion restaurant on campus. There's nothing too special about it, and I probably won't go back unless someone really wants to go there.

So this place is a good, solid sushi spot. It's a place where I would go in between classes if I'm definitely feeling sushi but don't want to pay the upscale prices. This is a very typical College Town Sushi Spot, and has affordable prices and really fast service. The inside is really small, though, so be aware of that when you're going in. The interesting thing is that I don't see very many people waiting a long time, most likely because they get the food out to you within 10 minutes. You're in, you're fed, you're out.

The owner is a complete scumbag. Never have I encountered such rude, unprofessional, and horrible service. He cursed multiple times at my friends and threw the food away because one of us decided to order take out instead of eat in. Like what? It didn't even make any sense. Whatever you do, DO NOT EAT HERE.

Teriyaki bento box is my go to for decades. Server actually told me I do not know what Teriyaki is when they brought out the cold, dry chewy sauce free meat. For that price I expect Chop House quality.

Saw the owner curse and yell at one of his female employees. Food is subpar and service is always poor. Eat at Rich JC instead.
