Consistently the most frustrating and confusing service experience in the contiguous 48. The only way this place is still here is that they have a monopoly on halfway decent bagels in this town.

Great atmosphere. Service is great. Lots of staff helping customers. But the bagels are terrible. And I’m pretty sure the eggs are powered. But I’m guessing on the eggs. I honestly couldn’t finish the bagel.

This is our 2 bd time visiting. The employee waiting on us was very friendly and patient, more so than the employee from my first visit a month ago. It appears majority of workers behind the counter are same in friendly ... Just 1-2 seemed impatient. However, the older male worker, maybe manager/owner, present on both occasions, has been gruff on both occasions. It seems like he may have been annoyed because we asked a question, about something the store didnt carry. We don't yet know menu well enough to be quick and understand all in how Barry's does business. Therefore not adept at swiftly ordering, (while trying to remember what we ordered last time, and change up what didn't work and keep what what did)... Our lack of swiftness and menu knowledge is no reason to be gruff, nor any other reason. How about treating customers with kindness no matter what your thinking, anyway.. As we continued to be kind thru out our visit. I may be biased as I come from a work ethic of always being courteous and patient, wanting to help the customer as best I can.

I've never seen a simple pizza bagel be made so terribly. I opened the container that held my bagel and I noticed they don't cut the bagel in half. They put a significant amount of pizza sauce on top of the while bagel with 5 sliced of pepperoni and a slice of Swiss cheese. Toaster oven for 30 seconds. Bagel was not toasted the sauce was cold. I'll come back and try something else but my first impression.. less than impressed. 2 thumps down.

This place is an absolute gem! The ingredients are always so fresh and tasty. The crew at Barry Bagels is always pleasant and you can tell they really care about their work. I am now a permanent customer! Highly recommended, 10/10 breakfast/lunch spot!

Worst experience in Ann Arbor. I recently moved to Ann Arbor, and I check this place out since a lot of people were raving about this bagel place. First, the service is terrible. They just stare at you and expect you to say what you want right away. Come on, not everyone knows your menu, and some of them don't have descriptions so I don't know what they are. I asked some questions about the menu, the employee that was helping me not only couldn't even give me an accurate description but also have an attitude of "dude, it's so obvious. why are you asking me". I interacted with this girl and the guy at the register, and both of them seem like they didn't want to work there. The vibe was like "order, get your food, and get out, and DO NOT interact with me". Second, the food was disappointing. I ordered eggles with meat and cheese. The meat, cheese, and pre-made egg is heated up in a microwave on a plastic container (a disposable type). I did want to try just a bagel with spread next time, but after that horrible service, I ain't going back.

Absolutely the most dreadful experience I've ever had at a bagel shop. Both employees we spoke to on Saturday, July 20th around 1pm had a terrible and most unhelpful demeanor - the person "cooking" our food, and the cashier.
The kitchen consists of 6 to 8 microwaves, in which the pre-beaten egg mixture is microwaved in plastic cups. They don't even use a pyrex-type container and a countertop oven. They aren't even cooking. The egg came out soggy and flavorless. The bagel was dry and crumbly. I also got an egg salad sandwich because I love egg salad. Also terrible. Bland and dry.
There is nothing quality about this place. The food is not fresh, everything is cooked in a microwave, and the workers seem very incompetent and unorganized.
Going back to the service, the food worker that helped us seemed annoyed that we didn't know how things worked even though we were polite. She couldn't provide any recommendations as a first time customer, and she didn't ask us if we wanted to eat there or take it to go.
The cashier had an attitude with every person in line. When it was our turn he asked us "what did you get" in a very curt and impolite manner. Later, I overheard another customer expressing concern about an issue to the cashier, and the cashier had such a terrible attitude with her.

First time here, reasonably priced for what you get. Ordered an "eggel". Bagel was decent size, had a nice amount of egg, and they had a nice selection of bagel types and cheeses.
