Family was feeling Italian. Baldos was closed on Mondays so we thought we’d try something new. Got a few random Italian dishes (the trio, cheese ravioli and French onion soup, others got pizza/cheese bread) the only thing that was edible AND good was the pizza and cheese bread. We should’ve known better, it’s like going to a steak house and getting a chicken dish… get what they’re known for not a side item.

I recently visited The Grotto and had a disappointing experience. First off, the customer service was far from acceptable. It took an extremely long time to get a drink, which was confusing because they don’t even sell food here. You’d think without a kitchen to manage, they’d be able to focus on serving drinks quickly, but that wasn’t the case. The staff seemed inattentive, and getting their attention was a challenge. For a place calling itself a “watering hole,” they sure don’t make it easy to get a drink. I’d suggest looking elsewhere if you’re hoping for good service and a hassle-free experience.

This is where I started my Ann Arbor journey. This place is rated high for a reason. The bartenders were great and suggested the perfect beers and whiskey.

Grotto is a great bar in Ann Arbor and we love all of the staff. Josh, Doug, Shane, Parker, and all of the rest of the team are great. Great beer selection and the perfect atmosphere to enjoy them.

Nice enough spot but way too pricey for what it is. Plus they default the payment to a 25% tip on checkout and don't display prices on the main menu which just kind of rubs me wrong and seems like a dark patter web practice...maybe not their choice but it's just not a good vibe from a business. Great staff though just questionable owners and I feel it's gone downhill since they separated from Beer Grotto.

This was a good stop on our bar crawl. The staff were friendly and helpful and fast. And the drinks were good. Only complaint is they only have 2 single person restrooms available for the whole bar and it was absolutely packed. So the line for the restroom was excessive.

Place is just a gem. Relaxed atmosphere. Beer selection... Incredible, of course. Staff is great, fun. Service is tip top. Order a beer and it's there literally in seconds, much of the time. Music great. Vibes great. Try to visit every weekend.
