Great little place near campus. We popped in for a quick bite after checking out the campus/downtown area. Our family tried a variety of things from pizza to burgers, gyros, and more. The sweet potato fries were awesome! Everything honestly was delicious, only complaint by any of us was the pizza needed to be a little more well done, but it was still super flavorful. We'll definitely be back.

I love coming to the Brown Jug on a game day. One of the best campus bars on the U of M campus. Drink specials and good bar food. Only complaint is the staff is WAY overworked, they run around like chickens with their heads cut off keeping up with orders. They need to add some staff but other than that it is a great place.

Service was very poor. They forgot to bring me my 2nd drink. When i asked for bill the waitress never came back. Felt like our table was ignored. I had to go up to the front to recieve my bill. I will not be back to this establishment.

Visiting U.Michigan and came here after the hockey game. Looks like your local sport bar which is all good. Multiple TVs, lively crowd. The food was terrible. Cold fries, rubbery chicken and they forgot the appetizers.

my girl friend and i come here all the time and we always have a great time - our waitresses are always so sweet and friendly. but today, we had just paid the bill and were just sitting at the table about to leave. our waitress had, understandably, already cleared our table. i took out my hydroflask from my purse, took a sip, and this random guy (i presume a bouncer of sorts) cameup to us and said he had to take my water bottle up front. we were so confused because this has literally never happened to me at any restaurant. quite a weird experience…

I have been frequenting this bar for years and I have never had my water bottle confiscated from me. A random guy just came up and told us we couldn’t have a hydro flask water bottle. I understand if they were worried that we had alcohol in our water bottle, but we were never once sloppy or overly drunk and simply wanted to take a drink of water. I just wanna stress that our waitresses are ALWAYS amazing so it’s not on the servers or anything but rather the random rude security guard who felt the need to exercise some sort of power over patrons. It was jarring and there was no reason to do this.

First time being at the brown jug, was not expecting a quiet down to earth place in a major university town. But it was quiet and peaceful. Server Alyssa was amazing with her up beat and spunky personality. Food was awesome, the Chilli cheese fries were great, the Chilli was sweet, not spicy lime some places sell them. I do recommend going.

Drinks were good. The waitress was super friendly and the only person working and she was taking care of 8 tables. Our sampler came and it was cold, she did it over and it was just as cold the second time. Just drink don't eat here.
