I did not like the corn tortillas with the fish tacos

Dietary restrictions: I'm gluten free and the tacos have never made me sick. I get them all the time

Great for eat in or takeout! Super quick service for such tasty and fresh food. Our favorites are the tacos— the birria special, and the chipotle chicken, carnitas, potato, and rajas. Also great vegetarian and kids menu options. Nice patio!

Vegetarian options: Many flavorful and filling vegetarian options.

Kid-friendliness: High chairs and lots of seating options. Great value for very tasty kids meals!

On Friday and Saturday, they have birria tacos. Got those and they were wonderful. Also enjoyed sitting out on the porch, though no one else seemed to be out there but us. We did take showers we promise!

I ordered their daily special which gives you option to try both tamale and taco. I love tamale, I'd say it's on spicier side. Taco was classic with corn tortilla. They give you self-serve hot sauce options which was great. I'd also recommend upgrading daily special menu by $0.5 to enjoy Mexican soda.

Don't need to give my opinion on this place the freshest Mexican in town!!! Love the workers and have nothing bad I could ever say been here over 50 times! Just never fails!

Food was good. Service is atrociously awful. Made a mistake on an order and was told to cancel from the online portal. There is no option for that and no one is answering emails about getting a refund. All staff could tell me over the phone was to do it online.

Food was nice and warm when I picked it up. Everything was correct. First thing I noticed was the green salsa I paid for was only filled to 1/2 of the container. Tacos (should) come with salsa already, so paying for an empty container is a rip off.

The carne asada tacos were decent; the meat was a bit tough and no salt. They come with one lime and a measly bunch of cilantro and onion.

The pork tamale was something I would not get again. Moist but no taste at all. It is lacking any type of salt; don’t be fooled by the green sauce inside, that’s also flavorless!

The items unfortunately only had flavor when I dumped hot salsa all over them. As a Mexican-American, this place does not serve quality food. I’d rather make the drive to Detroit for authentic and fair priced Mexican food! Primos Tacos is my favorite spot. It was worth a try.

It’s medically fast food, easy, cheap delicious. I love the new upgrades to the place.

Nice meals if you have hunger in between running errands or even for a proper meal.
I always take the veggie tacos or the veg taco meals with elote (Mexican corn) which is a must.

Chela’s in Ann Arbor is a must-visit spot for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors. The food is simply amazing, with the tacos and tamales standing out as personal favorites. The tacos are packed with flavor, and the tamales are perfectly cooked with a delightful filling. The service is impressively quick, and the staff is always friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The added bonus of a patio allows for a pleasant outdoor meal, and free parking makes the visit hassle-free. If you’re in Ann Arbor, Chela’s should definitely be on your list!

I think it’s been 5 years since we got an order completely correct. And sometimes it hasn’t even been close. They’ve forgotten whole meals on multiple occasions, which is embarrassing when we’re entertaining guests from out of town. Most recently every item ordered was wrong and they swapped black beans for guacamole. Which at 6 bucks for a side of guacamole that’s a pretty noticeable change. So we’ll probably forget again in about a year and have another order screwed up again and decide we’ll never order from them.. again. It’s a vicious cycle. Also, my wife drove in a wheelchair and when she parked someone parked in the hashed-out blue area and blocked her in. So, bad place to order from just about every way.
