Hands down our favorite Japanese restaurant in Ann Arbor. The portions, price and quality are unmatched which is an extraordinary combination, especially considering they're THE BEST tasting too. The service is top notch and the ever-present fresh roses area such a sweet & special touch.

I came in for the buy-one-get-one-free sushi deal, but the quality and taste were disappointing compared to other sushi places. The service was just okay—the waitress kept passing by without checking if we needed anything, and when we tried to get any of the server’s attention, two girls quickly rushed back to the kitchen. Overall, the food was mediocre and the service wasn’t great. I won’t be returning.

great food, California bowl, hamburger and tuna bowl, all great. Unbelievable slow service, inattentive, I wondered if this was part of the show, ie intentional. It was not busy. 8 min at table until waiter came, could not get refill on water. served food (long wait) but no plates, utensils, napkins, had to ask for everything. Staff moved at snail pace, like they had been working all night. That said, the food was great.

Splurged and spent my last money on the Spicy Kobe Beef dish via UberEats.
The dish is called spicy but they made it so hot, it’s completely inedible.. even drowned it in the yum yum/white sauce & still no bueno. (And I LOVE spicy food!!!)
I want to love it but now… I’m just hungry and chugging water.
Very easy to pick up from and respectful to delivery drivers!

Three of my friends and I came for lunch and it was fabulous! We had plenty of space for our variety of food - fried rice, noodle bowl, poke bowl and sushi! We didn't feel rushed and could catch up. The service was just right - good speed and friendly! The portions were so generous that we all got a second meal out of our lunch meal! Also, we shared the fried ice cream cut like a sushi roll and it was sooo perfect! Save room for it! I would definitely recommend (and parking is plentiful unlike downtown)! Great time at Godaiko!

This place looks kinda lame on the outside, but inside is some good Japanese food. The sushi isn't just tuna and salmon. It's flavorful and perfectly textured.

Hopefully this review can spare someone else’s stomach, time, and money. I wanted to give this place a fair try, but from the moment walking in I knew I messed up. Waitress was rude, seemed irritated as she showed us to our booth. The 2 rolls ordered were almost inedible, the tuna was neither pink nor red but a rotting brown color. My entree arrived, and was the wrong thing lol. The chicken was all dark meat and legitimate rubber. The waitress couldn’t be bothered to write our order down in so much that she also missed one of the appetizers (luckily for me, I’m glad it was another thing I didn’t have to pay for and not eat.) All in all the atmosphere is the only positive I have for this place. Food is very expensive but also nasty. I’m still recovering from vomiting as soon as I got back home lol.
