Walking inside reminds me of the theme park experience where you are transported to another place! We had dinner on the first floor where the waitstaff was easy going and very friendly. The smoked pork chop is amazing! The kitchen was also happy to work with the food allergy in our party.
This is a good restaurant. They have kase spatzle as an appetizer. It has sausage in it, which many other German restaurants do not. The beer selection is good, with over half of the draft choices being authentic German beers. They did not have red cabbage on the menu, but I asked and they made it.
At the edge of Ann Arbors, Main Street, there is this old standard of a bar with all the charm that so many other institutions seek to emulate. That Heidelberg, has long withstood the test of time and with its charming staff, will continue to do so.
