This is one of the best restaurants in Michigan very authentic Italian food. I really recommend it , great service authentic Italian cuisine.
This place was so Good, Everything was delicious! Every plate was cleared, highly recommended.
We arrived at about 4:15pm and the restaurant was completely empty. We came in on the Division side of the restaurant and walked up to the bar where the hostess and another employee were chatting. They pretty much ignored us so I asked if we seated ourselves or did we need to be seated.. We were told the hostess would seat us but we needed to go over to the other door. Huh? Why do they have a door on Division if you can only be seated if you enter from the door on Liberty? So, we went back to the other door and started over. The hostess seemed quite flustered as she scanned what I assume was the seating diagram on the computer. She asked us to stay at the front door while she walked around the seating area checking something out. Huh? The restaurant was completely empty, was it possible to squeeze us in somewhere? I could swear it felt like a SNL comedy routine except that she was serious. So, we asked for a table by the window and she said that that section was closed. Why would part of the restaurant be open and part (the best part where most people want to sit), be closed? So, we sat at a table on the other side of the restaurant as required. Shortly after we were seated another group came in and were given the same song and dance. They had also asked for a window table but obeyed the hostess' need to sit them away from the window. Apparently, they got fed up and demanded that they be seated by the window and the hostess promptly moved them to the table that we had asked for. So, when our waiter came to our table, I asked what was going on. He told us that the manager uses that section of the restaurant as his office and guests cannot use the tables by the window while he is doing business. It reminded me that when we owned a deli that no owner, manager or employee was allowed to park in front of the store. We parked at the back of the lot and left the good spots for our customers. Apparently, management at Mani's views customers not as guests but as a necessary inconvenience. Oddly, Mani does have a private dining room that was vacant but, I guess if you are the manager, you get the best section in the house to use as your office. The food and service were generally good though we had to send the meatballs back because they were served at room temperature not hot. The second batch did come out hot. But, not feeling too welcome here, I don't think we'll be back.
We visited Mani for the first time with our group of 6 friends. The restaurant is cute and the different levels and layout was nice. Very cool to see the open kitchen. The tables were very small and cramped. We were at a table for 6 but with 6 adults we barely had room to move our arms comfortably due to how short the table was and how close to the wall. We visited around 8 pm so it was very busy but even being that busy, our cocktails took an exceptionally long time to come out. We got the calamari and the focaccia to share. The calamari was good and the focaccia with the honey butter and chili oil was honestly the best bread any of us have ever had. The combination of the bread and the butter and honey and chili oil was unexpected but absolutely fantastic and delicious. I got the Cacio e Pepe which was very good. I tried my friend's shrimp scampi pasta and it was fantastic. The pizza was also very good. I got the isalita margarita and the espresso cocktail which were both delicious. Our sever was good as well overall. The only other complaint is that for the 6 of us all of our meals came out separately. I have never been to a restaurant where they don't hold the food until it's all ready to come out. There was almost 10 minutes between the first person who got food and the last of us who did. Luckily the phenomenal food and drinks will bring us back but hoping next time the service is a little more organized and we can get a table for 6 in the middle and not crammed against the wall.
As loyal Michigan Alumi, we have come to Mani since 2019. Sometimes we bring our kids for the football games. We have had perfect experiences at Mani every time until tonight.
After spending at the bar and thoughtfully cashing out there to support the bar servers, we were placed with a terrible server because we had kids with us (14 and 11 YO). Bre was slow and inattentive. Our Tartufo order was wrong. We were mostly ignored even though we were celebrating our son's birthday. On exit, the host staff were mostly too busy to speak to us. We suggest checking recent reviews for potential decline before going to Mani.

Mani Osteria is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can be pure joy. The focaccia is a must, warm, airy, and made unforgettable with that heavenly honey butter (10/10, do not skip it). The pizza was a deluxe brick oven experience, perfectly charred, flavorful, and balanced in every bite.
The shrimp scampi was amazing, cooked to perfection with a buttery garlic sauce that deserves its own round of applause. And the handmade pasta was pure artistry, silky, fresh, and bursting with flavor. It is what I would call “flavor on God mode.”
Our waitress was genuinely surprised we had never been before, and honestly, who hasn’t? After that meal, I completely understood why. Mani Osteria delivers from start to finish with food that makes you slow down and savor every bite. If you haven’t been yet, go. You’ll get it.

Great place, nice lighting and atmosphere. The service was great. The Tartufo pizza was out of this world! We did add pepperoni to it also. In addition, we had the Quattro Formaggi pizza plus sausage, which was also pretty good. Highly recommend and will return.

We tried to stop in Friday night for dinner but it was a long wait so we tried our luck again on Saturday, and there was no wait and we were seated right by the kitchen! The experience of watching them cook and interacting with the chefs was amazing. The pizza was DELICIOUS and when we told them we were celebrating our anniversary they surprised us with champagne and dessert on the house. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Ann Arbor!

Pricey but pretty good overall.
Starters were good: focaccia, chop salad with salami, and pickled tomatoes (bruschetta).
Red onion pistachio pizza was a must try. Peach pizza was decent but not as flavorful.
Desserts varied - affogato and budino were very good. Tiramisu was a bit dry.
Service was good overall. Decent draft beer selection.
