I’ve been to a number of Korean bbq places and this is unfortunately at the bottom of the list. A lot of restaurants have increased their prices but it was still worth it. This one had first, a small serving and second, the meat tastes OLD. It tastes like it has been sitting in the freezer for over a year and we were the first customers to order it.
The meat was barely cooking even though we adjusted the fire from med to high. There was just no fat, even the sauce couldn’t hide the foul taste 🤢🥩 It looked like I was cooking those kids play food that they play with.
The staff, though, were very pleasant. We were seated right away and she would check up on us from time to time.
I normally get a couple of the fish cakes banchan but it was hard and just like the meat, tasted old. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED since I have been looking to trying new Korean bbq places.
I have nothing to say about the rolls or the other Japanese food but as for the bbq, it is a 2/10. Got a score because of great customer service. The hot tea was good and there was only a little meat in the soup.

Came for lunch with a friend and ordered the following items:
- Shrimp Tempura
- Budae Chigae (military soup)
- Kalbi Tang
The tempura needs a lot of work!! The fried food looked soggy and lacked the crispiness you would expect. Definitely need a lot of TLC on this dish.
Kalbi tang looked like egg drop soup with some short ribs in them. Sadly, only found 3 strings of glass noodles in the dish. Both kalbi tang and budae chigae was heavily seasoned using beef dashida... I mean, yeah little is ok to flavor the dish, but when it over powers the dish, it's an issue.
The banchans were depressing... one of them was potato that looked liked it was overcooked, kimchi was 1 out of 5, favorite banchan was the mac salad lol.
Definitely lot of room for improvement on their Korean dishes, especially the tempura.

Food is excellent. Service is quick and friendly. Amazing Korean experience. We had the grill and the meat was fall apart tender. The sides are fabulous. The kimchi is very similar to what I make.

Tried the Korean BBQ, it was OK, but better option in Metro Detroit.

Ordered the Michigan and Princess roll. Some of the best sushi I have tasted and I'm not that big into special rolls; prefer the classics like eel and salmon. They really hit the spot. The sauces went well with all the flavors and all came together so nicely.

Just okay- food was a solid choice for affordable sushi and ramen albeit on the salty side. Service was good and food came out quick.

My experience needs to be noted. Last night I dined here with about 25 other people. We come every Thursday around 8:30 after a meeting. There are 15 to 25 of usually and that would be quite an undertaking for most establishments but the staff at this restaurant is exquisite and exceptional in their service. There is no delay with being waited upon and greeted and served what we order. Because of the nature of our group we have separate checks. I always feel so bad about that but the staff is not bothered. I am posting this review not only for what I have said but also for a heartfelt reason. When we left last night I did not realize until I got home I had left my credit card. They were closed when I discovered this. I went back to the establishment this morning when they opened at 11:00. It was as if they were expecting me as they were unbelievably gracious. Theey had taken my card and put it in an envelope with safekeeping. I was so grateful and they would not let me leave the material or any type of a reward. They simply told me I am a good customer. I lived most of my life in Boston. The reaction there would not have been as it was here. Boston can tend to be aggressive. I have been here 5 weeks and I find Ann Arbor to be the most hospitable community. And my story here is very much a testament to these people who provide the community with with prideful welcome. Thank you all including the kitchen staff who are usually the least thanked people in the hospitality industry. God bless.

I have been going to Nagomi for a while now, and was disappointed with my last transaction there. Did not pick up the phone and when there was a problem with my order they did nothing to correct it. Enjoy their food but am upset with the service.
