I have dined at Peridot for dinner on a double date and for drinks/shareables with friends and this place is perfect for both! We agree this is a top contender for best cocktails in Ann Arbor if not THE best! The food and ambiance is spectacular and will definitely be back. I love that it's locally owned and the staff goes above and beyond. Definitely a must-go in downtown AA!

We arrived a little late and ended up ordering from the late-night menu instead of the full dinner menu, but honestly, the food did not disappoint at all. Everything was delicious and seasoned to perfection. Our server, Lee, was incredibly kind and helpful, making the experience even better. The drink I ordered was excellent—balanced and refreshing. I can’t wait to come back for round two, this time to try the full dinner menu!

I had an amazing experience at the restaurant. The staff, especially the bartender was really nice. The drinks, crab fried rice and dessert we ordered were all delish. Highly recommend this place.

While the food that we did get served was quite good, this was one of the worst dining experiences ever and certainly the worst in Ann Arbor. We were seated but told we may have to eat quickly since there was another reservation in 90 minutes. We ordered drinks and food at once and while 3 of our small plates came out immediately we then waited 45 minutes with no food served and no one checking on us. Our waitress offered to refill our water and change our plates multiple times but never did so. Finally one of our 2 remaining dishes came. When we asked about the fried rice we were told the kitchen is running slow, yet 2 nearby tables that sat down after us were served their fried rice. We finally asked for the check and to take the fried rice off. We were told it may take another 5 minutes and we could take it to go. It does not take over an hour to make fried rice so clearly the order was never put in. Despite this there was no apology and no acknowledgement of an error.
In summary, the food is good yet overpriced, but the service is abysmal. The staff carry themselves as if this is a Michelin restaurant, however, it would merely be a terrific food truck. Many of the reviews regarding the service are accurate. We left disappointed and hungry.

The food at Peridot is good, though not as good as the description or worth what they charge. But what made this a bad experience was the terrible service. The food came out inconsistently, one plate never came at all, and we left hungry enough that we needed to order takeout from another place. There are so many better restaurants downtown, this one just isn’t worth it.
We always have a good time here. We order different small plates every time and are always wowed. Cocktails are incredible.

Heard very good things and was excited to try somewhere new but left beyond disappointed, I sat at the bar in the evening and wasn’t even acknowledged let alone served for at least 20 minutes! Once I was finally acknowledged the individual working the bar was downright rude and it seemed like he didn’t even want to work there.

Came back hoping for improvement from the service end of things from our first visit to the bar. However again the same tender had the same attitude. And as they say the best judgement of future performance is past. That being said the cocktail and food quality has never wavered, but I believed in growth, however the price of the product doesn’t justify the mistreatment, can’t speak for table servers etc, but won’t be back to find out.

Came in looking for Nick our long time draw back to date nights at peridot, then noticed Eli wasn’t in that night either and decided half way through service to just end our night there to continue somewhere else. Always quality food with Ryan, but hope they get front of house figured out soon or won’t be returning.
