This location is inside another restaurant (YORK)! And the other location has a more expansive menu... Which was a bit frustrating heading into town without much knowledge of either, we probably would have appreciated the other location's menu a bit more. The guy at the counter charmed us into forgetting about the waffle fries and ordering there anyways...

That aside, Ricewood is awesome! The food is remarkable, some of the best barbeque we have ever had. The menus is VERY minimal - basically BBQ bowls (meat, rice, tomato and onion - hot soy sauce is optional, veggies are extra), a couple sandwiches, and meat by the pound. I would dock them a star for that, but I suspect once you know, you crave these bowls like we do and don't care about other options!

At this location, you can go order drinks from the bar/cafe that shares the space, and you take your food to a common area to eat and bus your table yourself. The vibe is nice, but it's more coffee house than restaurant; we were one of a couple tables eating, most were just having a glass of wine/coffee and working on their computers. Overall the meal was a bit pricy, but the food quality and flavor certainly justified it!

RECOMMEND!! I ordered Chopped Brisket Rice Bowl that’s mildly spicy, it was MOUTHWATERING! It tastes so amazing and the serving was so much for me I couldn’t even finish it, I had to take some home. The utensils and bowl are eco friendly so that’s a PLUS.
I ordered online for pick-up.

Such good food and very friendly service. My entire family loved all of our meals. I think we tried all of their rice bowls that they had between all of us and they did not disappoint! I had the pork belly one myself and it was so good!

I loved this place, I went there twice, the meat was delicious, the second time I took 8oz brisket, 8oz ribs, 4oz pulled pork and red coke slaw. Wow, the meat was melting in my mouth, if you are looking for a very good BBQ in Ann Arbor, I strongly recommend going to Ricewood!!

Vegetarian options: There are few options for vegetarians.

One of my favorite places in A2. The Pork Belly bowl with kimchi and cucumber, medium spice is my goto. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Food was really good and bowls and silverware were disposable eco friendly. Would recommend this for anyone wanting a chill place to eat. If you want a place to eat without searching for a table too hard, the weekdays before the evening would be best.

Vegetarian options: Had really good tofu and veggie bowls for any vegetarian or vegans.

Thank to Luz who recommended this location. The brisket tacos are amazing and highly recommended.

Tommy (one of the owners) gave a nice personal touch to our visit.

If you are in the area and want a nice place to have a beverage of choice, this is a great place to visit and bring your friends.

Eating here ruined my day, extremely salty food to an unhealthy level. Spent 40 dollars on two rice bowls and the only flavor traceable was extreme salt. Only good thing about my meal was the Kool Aid. As to service the people were very nice. Saltiest food I’ve ever had in my life. Been a long time since I’ve had food this hard to enjoy.

Fast casual Asian bbq. The food was really good. They allowed us to get the spicy sauce on the side so we could customize our heat level. The kool-aid was a nice sweet contrast to the vinegar of the bbq. Probably the best pork belly I have ever had!
