I was so excited to try out a new restaurant and have some chicken katsu for dinner. I walked in Sadako hungry and excited for dinner but left utterly disappointed. It took a while until my waiter got my order and then it took exactly an hour until I received my dinner. My chicken katsu was burnt, the salad was made of raw cabbage, and the rice of all things was just okay! Quite disappointed. Try somewhere else.

I've been wanting to go here for months, I door dash on the side and pass by and pick up orders all the time, finally I had the time to bring my girlfriend here, who is extremely picky, and it exceeded both of our expectations.

1. The teriyaki is the best I've ever had. One of the owners told me her husband makes it fresh everyday so we will get the same flavor no matter the staff that day. It was also recommended by one of the best waitresses me and my girlfriend have had in our 6 years of dinner dates. I had the udon, the beef was so flavorful and cooked perfectly, my girlfriend had the combo plate with chicken, beef and fresh vegetables covered in teriyaki. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. And the sake was really good as well.

2.The service is top 3 dining experiences I've had. Great recommendations, welcoming, attentive without being over bearing. We still had a private dinner but any time we had a question the lovely staff were right there. When ordering I asked for recommendations and each one we got was spot on. Not over sold not underwhelming

I would 100% recommend coming here. I was anticipating my next visit while I was still here lol. Also get the teriyaki if you come here.

The staff was very polite and the sushi was delicious as expected for a 4+ star place, the taste alone makes a filling meal worth 25 dollars

Food took 40 minutes to come out and during that time did not receive a single update on the food. Server only talked to the table once. Was silently handed the bill before we finished eating. Staff was completely silent and cold. Terrible experience.

I ordered this for pickup, so can't comment on the atmosphere. But this was the worst sushi I've ever had. Not kidding. The softshell crab smelled (and tasted) like it had spoiled, and the fish texture was all on the mushy side. I had two rolls, neither of which was edible. The edamame was fine. It's edamame. There are a lot of much better options in Ann Arbor.

We called ahead an order around 5:10 and we were told to come in 45 minutes to pick up. Got there a little after 6. They were extremely busy, so I had to wait which is understandable. I keep asking every 15 minutes or so how much longer I need to wait. 10 minutes, 20 minutes 45 minutes pass! I’m given vague answers that entrees are still being cooked. No estimate. We end up leaving without one last entree (it was refunded) because 45 extra minutes in and we had had it. Poor management and patronizing tones when repeatedly asked how much longer. We were told “It’s common knowledge it’s rush hour so it’s hard to estimate how long it will take.” No accountability was taken by them for their poor planning and poor communication to have our full order completed in a timely manner. Unacceptable and fake empathy was thrown our way. It’s a shame because the food itself was good but not worth the poor management and disorganization. Really there’s no excuse for taking over an hour and a half (and still wasn’t done) when you say 45 minutes so double the time!

Best sushi in Ann Arbor in my opinion, hands down. The staff works very hard and they have really good sushi and other entrees as well. The pork tonkatsu is amazing, but you can't go wrong with the sushi here for sure.
